While pregnant I had all these things I would never do but they seem to go out the window once LO arrives. Seems like I do what works:
I said I'd never sleep with LO in bed with us, but he sleeps like a dream when he does and it seems to work for us.
I also said the in laws couldn't come right away when Cannon arrived but after coming home from the hospital I was exahusted and the in laws came for 4 days and my MIL stayed up with Cannon and did everything and we got to get much needed sleep and even had a date night. I was so glad I did because that is still the best sleep I've had since his arrival.
Re: what "rules" have you broken
i let him nap on his tummy. i can't bring myself to leave the couch that's right next to his PnP when he does this, but i NEVER thought i'd do it.
i also have a blanket and spare swaddle in the corner of his PnP. in the beginning i was terrified to have anything in there with him. i'm still like that with his crib for night sleeping, but i'm way less rigid for naps.

I let DS nap on his tummy as well, he hates being on his back but once he's on his tummy he falls right asleep. I always make sure I'm in the same room though, when he sleeps for the night he is on his back.
We've had him in the bed with us just a couple of times too, but not overnight. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and then bring him in.
I said I didn't want anyone but SO in the room when it came time to push. Both of our mom's were there, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.
I also said I'd never let DS become a "binky baby", but we do occasionally give him one. Usually he just spits it out after a minute or two.
I never held you, but I always loved you.

The only "rule" I break that I said I would never do is bedshare- it was the only way we could get him to sleep at night. We just started to try and transition to the crib again.
The other "rule" I break is letting LO sleep on his stomach. He rolls right to his tummy no matter how I lay him down and I don't correct him.
Edit: I didn't even know some of these things were rule! I guess I break more "rules" than I thought lol.
He naps on his tummy. I let him sleep on my chest if he wakes up before his next scheduled feeding. We used blankets in the bassinet when he was smaller. I still put one on him in the crib when he's tummy napping.

Same!
This! We just did yardwork yesterday and DD loved being outside. Also I didnt want her to use a binky, she has to have it to fall asleep. I use blankets to cover her, I let her in the bath with me sometimes, I bedshare, I will let her get away with watching TV if I absolutely need to get things done. Rules are made to be broken... No regrets here
This. We're learning as we go.
