G is 16 months and is a fantastic eater. The one exception to this rule is oatmeal. He LOATHES the texture of oatmeal, but loves baby oatmeal. At this rate, I'm afraid he'll be eating it in kindergarten.
I need some breakfast ideas that I can send to daycare (so minimal prep at daycare). We don't really eat pre-packaged foods, and we try to eat clean for the most part, so anything really sugary or processed is out.
This morning I sent a 1/2 sprouted grain bagel with natural PB. I was also thinking I could make scrambled eggs. He hasn't taken to french toast, pancakes or waffles in the past, but it could be time to try again.
Ideas?
Re: Need breakfast ideas for daycare
What about hard boiled eggs or dry cereal (or is that too processed)? Herny often gets a handful of cheerios and a cup of milk for breakfast.
DD is a huge oatmeal fan, but I don't have enough time to make her oatmeal for daycare in the morning. We used to do yogurt (plain yogurt mixed with applesauce) until recently (she decided she no longer likes yogurt
)
She eats a banana every morning, and then we often give her dry cereal, an all natural fruit/cereal bar (or you can make your own), or homemade pancakes. She never used to like pancakes, but she finally started to enjoy them a few months ago. She won't eat muffins though. We also do toast with melted cheese.
I would do hardboiled or scrambled eggs, but she won't sit still long enough to eat it in one sitting now that she's in the toddler room so I send something she can start when she gets there and then finish during morning snack.
