Cool Baby Shower Idea

I saw this on the Natural Birth board and thought it was pretty cool. It might be a little too "hippie" for some. . .

All the attendees bring a bead to the shower. It doesn't have to be anything special; they don't have to spend any money on it. It could just be a cheap plastic bead if they want. During the shower, there is a moment of silence and everyone says a blessing/prayer or puts positive thoughts/energy about mom-to-be's birth/labor onto their bead. The beads are all collected and strung together and given to the mom-to-be and she wears the necklace with all of its prayers and positivity while in labor.

I mentioned this idea to my mom and MIL (who are throwing the shower for me along with about 6 other women) and they're going to do it at my shower! To avoid anyone forgetting their bead, they'll provide all the beads and people can just pick the one they like out of a bowl. 

Just thought it was a special/cool idea and thought I'd share. Have a good night!

    I've known of people to do something similar with rose quartz at a bridal shower or wedding- it's apparently a stone of love (never knew that existed) and then they keep the stones in a vase or something in the newly wed's home. NMS, but sweet.

    i really like that idea and have never heard of it for a baby shower. i've heard of peeps doing that at a bridal shower. maybe i'll have to set that up!
