White noise machine?

Anyone use one?? Several people have recommended that we get one to help our DD sleep better at night. I mean, don't get me wrong, she's really a great sleeper, just not in her crib! Ugh. I'm debating about buying one, but it's around $70.

If you use one, I'd love to know your experience with it. Thanks!

Re: White noise machine?

  • We don't have a white noise machine but noticed DS completely relaxes to the sound of the shower so we use a sleep sheep on the rain setting

  • My DD sleeps like a rock but we have the Gentle Giraffe and the "womb" sound helps her fall asleep quickly.

Thanks! I have the Sleep Sheep, which seems to be the same thing. I tried it when she was younger and I didn't notice a difference. Maybe I'll try it again and see what happens.

  • In both of our children's rooms we use an air purifier. I love them because they keep their air clear at the same time as creating white noise. I really do feel like they sleep better with the noise and the added bonus is it helps block out the noise of my DH & me still up around the house.

  • we use the homedics sound machine on waterfall...it's at target and pretty good price.
  • We have a sleep sheep. We had it attached to her bassinet when she slept in our room with us, and then attached it to her crib when she moved into her own room. Her transition was really smooth to her crib, maybe that helped, who knows.

  • We have the sleep sheep which we use on either the rain or ocean settings. We also have a little frog which projects stars onto the ceiling in addition to the noise, but haven't used it yet.

It is a lifesaver!! LO has colic and it puts him right to sleep when he's fussy. Helps me sleep too!

I would get this one. We have the Sleep Sheep and DD wakes up the SECOND it turns off (it only runs for 45 minutes). I'm buying the homedics one on amazon today!
