There is a Just Between Friends Sale this weekend in St. Louis and I was wondering if anyone has attended one. I signed up for the special 2 hour "first time Mom" part of the sale. Did you find good baby stuff as well as maternity clothes?
I went to something similar (Rhea Lana) before I knew what I was having and got 11 items (maternity or boy stuff for my son) for about $60. I went to another location's sale after knowing we were expecting a girl and got 12 items/outfits for $50.
They just had one of these in our area (Indiana). My experience was not that great, they had tons of clothes but not much else. There was very little in the way of furniture, gear, etc. Worth taking a look at but I wouldn't expect much.
I just went this weekend. I was looking for a changing table and they only had 2. There were a lot of baby clothes and toys. I did get a breast feeding pillow for a good deal. But wasn't really impressed overall with the selection.
I signed up to volunteer at the one in my area so I was able to shop the night before it opened to the public. I got a really nice changing table for $50, lots of maternity clothes, and a very nice graco stroller and matching car seat with 2 bases for $80. Best deal ever!

I have been to a couple in my area. It's hit or miss. Because you are getting in early as a first time mom, you will be able to look at things before they have been all picked through. The JBF sales can be overwhelming, but if you have the time and patience to sort through everything, you can find some great deals. The first time I went to one I was totally grossed out by how used and stained everything looked, but then I went to another one a year later and found a bunch of onesies for my new one on the way in great condition for a buck a piece, so you just never know.
This totally depends on the event! As a regular JBF attendee, they will obviously have
the most variety during the presale. That's what makes it sooooo awesome
to volunteer or find a way to get into the presale. I have also worked
their inspection and they are picky, but cannot help it if sometimes
stray pieces get by.
The ones in Texas are awesome! I now attend
the Houston area sales, and they are the most reputable in the area by
far. Soooooo organized, friendly, and professional.
If you have a chance to attend the first time moms sale, GO! The earlier you get in at a JBF Sale, the more selection you'll have. That's the trick! I love JBF events and I saved a TON of $ in preparing for my twins to be born. Now, I save a ton at each sale, but on more common things like clothes, shoes, books, toys, etc.
i've been to 2 of them and both times i really was disappointed at the pricing of the clothes. i didn't look at anything else really, so not sure about other items like toys. but the clothes...i could have found better deals on clearance at target. i'm a big thrift shopper and those prices weren't very "thrifty" lol
