Mine sounds the same as yours....I had my first prenatal history appt yesterday and then first dr. appt (where they'll listen for the heartbeat) at 11 weeks. Then they said they normally do an ultrasound at 20 weeks.
I completely understand wanting one early. I had more than one mature follicle when I did the HCG trigger, so I'd really like to know if there's more than one in there. Hopefully my dr. will see that as enough reason to do one at the 11 week appt.

I lot of OBs won't schedule an u/s until 12 or 20 weeks, depending on their practice and your history. If your OB is a 20 week person, you may want to ask if you should get an NT scan. This is an u/s that evaluates your risk for Down's and similar defects (it does not diagnose, just provides a risk assessment). It is a longer u/s and would be considerably earlier than a 20 week u/s. If you opt to go that route, make sure your insurance covers it.
I am having my first u/s at 6w5d with this pregnancy. That is because of my history of loss and because I am working with an RE. I had an u/s at 5w2d with my first pregnancy, and that was due to spotting.

I'm in this boat too!
trying to focus on how it really is a good thing to not be eligible for an u/s yet. cause some heartache to have to wait what feels like forever but no where near what I imagine the struggle many go through to conceive and carry a baby to full term now a days.
Thanks, you've actually calmed me down a bit. I'm just confused as to why with first time pregnancies they don't do one in the first couple appts. I'll def be asking why they are waiting. Thanks again!
