If you want a simple recipe, just take 2 parts fruit to 1 part sugar (by WEIGHT). Then add a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice and cook down until desired thickness.

No, but I saw on a show once that a good way to sterilize your jars/lids is to put them in the oven (rather than washing/boiling/whatever). Seemed ingenious to me!
