Hates the carseat....

My poor LO hates her carseat.  I can't put her in it unless she is sleeping and then she will wake up midtrip and scream bloody murder like she is in a ton of pain.  I take her out of it and she instantly stops crying.  I had to stop tonight midtrip in order to calm her down.  She just started doing this yesterday.

Any advice?  I need to be able to leave the house!

No advice, just commiserating.  Baby boy is the same way.  He will put up with the car for fifteen minutes tops, and then begins to scream.  Sigh.  I just try to keep him well-fed and changed during outings.  I often nurse him in the back seat before putting him in the car seat in hopes that he'll stay content.  It works . . . rarely.  But sometimes.

I downloaded a white noise app on my phone and it seems to work when he is pissed at being in the car.

Yup - it sucks!  Really the only thing you can do is get out and go.  Obviously make sure baby is fed, dry, and hopefully sleepy/sleeping but you can't stay locked up.  Music can help and I just keep talking, singing to her.

My first did the same thing for the first few months off and on.  But since he loves the car and has never had any issues.  Once they can see out a bit better, that helps.  Switching to a rear facing convertible helped a lot with my first as well.

I think Aubrey hates being back there alone. When DH and I are together I ride in the back next to her and she's fine. When I'm solo she screams bloody murder. Sometimes when she hears my voice or a female voice in a country song she momentarily calms down.

Check to make sure the straps are adjusted right or not too tight.  We had to move up the shoulder straps already for Olivia.

Definitely check that all straps for the seat are adjusted correctly.  My first also hated the car and tuning the radio to an AM station with static often worked to soothe him.

yes, check the straps and change them if necessary.  ours is ok while the car is moving, but to get her into it resulted in the loudest screaming from a baby that i have ever heard.  dh moved the shoulder straps, which helps a bit, and we also loosen the straps completely to get her in and settled, then tighten after she's in.  she still screams when you tighten her in, but it's like a one minute scream instead of a 5 minute, fight you as you try to get straps over her shoulders scream.

I have one too, but in the car I just tune to a dead station and turn up the static towards the backseat.

My LO also hates the carseat but enjoys the car and especially if we drive fast.
