NBR: Harry Potter fans

Are you planning to see the final Harry Potter movie in July? It premiers on my due date (July 15th) but if I am still pregnant, I fully intend to waddle my huge butt to the movie theater. Smile

  • NERD! Stick out tongue

Just kidding!  I can't wait until the next one!  I don't know if I will go to the theater or not to see it.  I waited for Part 1 to come out on Blu-Ray before seeing it...I might just wait for the 2nd one too...

But...this reminds me I need to get a babysitter lined up or make sure DH isn't working the night Breaking Dawn comes out....(Yeah, I know....I'm one of THOSE girls....)

  • I'm due July 14, and if I'm still pregnant, I intend on going! The theater is actually 20 minutes closer to the hospital than my house, so if I go into labor, I'll be alright.

Also, my sister is a HUGE Harry Potter fanatic and she swears that if baby decides to show on July 15, she will call her Hermione, lol.

Me too... I love the Twilight series.

I've heard that they are splitting it up into 2 parts. The 2nd part won't be released until 2012. Sad

  • I won't be there opening week (since I'll likely have a nb) but I do plan to find a weekend matinee while its still out, but likely towards the end of its run once I know what kind of schedule LO keeps (if any).

All kinds of movies are coming out in June/July MH wants to see, he's pouting.  He at least gets to take DD to see Cars2, I told him it could be a "Daddy Daughter date" once LO is here so DD1 doesn't feel neglected.  My sister is going to take her to see Mr Poppers Penguins too.

  • I had a friend who, at nine months pregnant, sat through BOTH LOTR films (extended version) and then the premiere of LOTR: ROTK at a special ALL DAY movie theatre premier.  I was there, too, but not preg.  And she NEVER got up to pee...  I prob won't do this for HP as I'm a bigger book fan than movie...
  • I picked up the books the day they came out, but never got in to the movies... I will most likely watch it when it's on DVD since we have netflix. I hope all of your LOs cooperate so you can go though! Honestly I am not sure I will go to the theatre again before LO is due. MH loves to see movies in the theatre, we went to see Thor this weekend and LO did not like it! I wondered if the surround sound bothered her (loud and lots of vibrations). Plus sitting so long was not so comfortable!

They are doing two.  Which is kind of a bummer...but there was a lot going on in the last book...I felt "rushed" during eclipse as well...there was a lot of stuff crammed into that book!  It probably could have benefited (and made BANK) by doing two movies also.

The only part I don't like about 2 movies is I have to wait until next year to see the freaky "Reneesme" vamp/human child.

ITA. I also thought the last HP was rushed...

I love the movies but the books are 100% better. I don't think I've ever watched a movie and liked it more than a book.

  • We are DEFINITELY going.  If I go into labor during the movie, we'll just name him Harry.  We're probably going to go see Captain America two days before my due date, too.  If I go into labor during that one, I guess his name will be Captain America... Wink

    I CAN'T WAIT for HP!

I knew you'd be going. Big Smile

I figure if I start having contractions during the movie, I'll just keep my legs crossed. Wink

  • I'm due July 14th and I plan on waddling my huge butt in there, getting the largest tub of popcorn I can and watching the crap out of that movie.  I've wait wayyyyy too long for this!

  • If I'm still pregnant, heck yes I'll be going to see it opening weekend! If LO is born before, I'll just wait a couple weeks and have my parents watch her and DH and I will go see it. I can't wait! I'm definitely one of those Harry Potter nerds :)

  • PSA for those mamas that will have outside babies by then...my brother showed me a website you can stream new movies and watch at home!  We've watched a few and while the quality may not be perfect it works.  I'm sure HP will be on there within a couple of days of the release date.

  • I know I will have a baby by then since my doctor won't let me go more than 1 week past due, and I'm due on the 4th. I'm hoping I will be able to just go to the drive in later on while it is still in theaters and just bring LO with me. This will be the first time I will have missed an opening night though.

  • I'm not sure what we'll do, since I'm due July 5th.  I doubt we'll be able to go opening night like we did for all the others.

I'm also disappointed that this one is in July - I always liked the November premiers.  Harry Potter just feels like a November kind of movie to me.

  • omg, i am so glad i am not the only person worrying about this! I am due July 8th (i think it opens that weekend) & have been talking about how upset i will be if i can't go for months! DH is not a die-hard fan (and didn't read the books), but has seen the movies with me, so he doesn't really get it and thinks i am crazy for thinking being upset about this! we have been going with friends to see all the movies at an IMAX theater (the only way to see a HP movie, in my opnion), about 35 minutes from our house.  I keep teasing them that someone better figure out the fastest route to get from the theater to the hospital in case my water breaks during the movie!
  • It comes out 1 1/2 weeks after my due date and 3 days before DH and I head out to Iceland. I'm very nervous, but I told DH be prepared to spend a day with his lil guy cuz I'm definitely going to see it!

  • My due date is July 14th and if I'm still pregnant I'm assuming I'll want a good distraction.  Maybe going to the midnight showing will spark labor contractions? haha

I'm due July 22nd. I keep telling my little man to not make an appearance until after I see Harry Potter. My brother keeps teasing and saying if I go into labor while watching HP we should name him Harry.....Harry Harrison...I think not. Haha. I'm still so anxious for July though! Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only one!

  • I'm due the 17th and have explicitly told DD that she has to stay inside until AFTER the movie!! I'm actually hoping she will be late (or on time) so I can see the movie!! I'm even debating standing in line at midnight with my best friend, as we have for all the other movies. We'll see Big Smile
