  I like it. I think it has a lovely meaning and sound to it. You don't hear it very often, but it's not too 'out there'. I think it's a good choice.

  I had a friend in high school with this name except hers had two m's. She always had to explain how to pronounce it and it was commonly misspelled.

  I think of Amara and Michelle...Sailor Uranus and Neptune. LOL. My sister was a huge Sailor Moon fan! So that makes me associate Amara with Ur-ANUS. Not cool. I don't think most people (especially her age) will think of it, but you never know.

  ETA: Sailor Uranus and Neptune are lovers, also.
