on buying new carseats? Ruby has outgrown her infant seat (height) and I HAVE to buy convertible seats like last week. Only I can figure out what to buy. I have "researched" but I am even more confused now.
We have Camille in a Graco MyRide65 in my car, and in a Safety1st AlphaOmega in DH's car. The Graco is a little massive for my car, but she is so comfortable in it. The Safety 1st one is pretty good, and I like that it goes all the way up to 100 lbs as a booster.
I don't know if that helps much at all, I just thought I'd throw in what we've got. )

I need to figure out how to find the maximun height capacities of carseats. They all talk about weight, but I doubt she will ever max out anything in the weight department before height. She is 99% for height and only 10% for weight..lol

We went with the Safety 1st also, after endless research. I like the Graco, but it was just so huge. I like that she can be in the Safety 1st for so long, my only complaint is that I wish it reclined a little more while rear facing, but Sadie doesn't seem to mind too much.
ETA: Sadie's in the 98% for height and weight, and her poor little feet already hit the backseat, I have no clue how I'm going to keep her RF until 40 lbs.
Sadie is not impressed. "This ribbon has been reported." - lovesnina

She'll learn to fold her legs. It looks completely awkward, but they say it's better to have a broken leg or hip than a broken neck. (

The back of the safety 1st slides up. It would take her a long time to outgrow that one. )

This is what we got for DD. It's expensive, but the 'steel alloy frame & aluminum reinforced sides' won me over. It's also nice and slim so it fits well in my little Toyota Matrix. And it has a nice high back-- it comes to just below the headrest on the seat (if that makes sense). The next kiddo will get the same thing.
I know what you mean. Don't forget you wnat to be able to find a seat that will fit in your car well. For me it's important for her to be in the center, and not all seats will fit well CRF.
We have Britax Boulevards and they fit well in both out jeep and accord. My sister uses the same seat and it works out well for my nephew, who is super tall and 19 months.

Center is not great for my car regardless of the carseat. I wish it were, because then I wouldn't have to put the passenger seat all the way up. Maybe I should go to BRU and try a few out.

This is what we did and ended up with two different seats for our cars.
