switching drs.....mercy anderson deliveries come in!

I want to switch drs before ttc #2. I liked my ob at tri state womens in florence and I usually see tina ranson and dr. Woeste delivered ds. The problem is delivering at st. E's, we had a terrible time with their resident pedis and I really want our pedi to see the next child. We go to mt caramel peds and they see babies at mercy anderson. I know there is 7 hills. If you go there any advice on who to see or not to see? What other practices deliver there? Isn't there a 7 hills office in milford too? Do all of the drs see patients at both offices? Is the anderson office in the same building as the health plex or is it in the hospital? Any opinions are welcome! Thanks

Both my DCs were born at Mercy and I see dr fleming at 7 hills. All the docs see pts at both locations. The Anderson one is in the Healthplex. Dr fesenmeir delivered DS and Dr Zabrecky delivered DD. My experiences were wonderful. The LCs at Anderson rock too. I'm typing from my phone so this is brief but feel free to ask any questions and I can answer later....and sorry for any typos!

  • NP, im on my phone too! How many male vs female drs are there? Can I take DS to kidsfit while im at my appts. Since we are members? Is it silly to switch Dre considering I liked my practice just fine! Help me decide!

  • Both of our boys were delivered at Anderson Mercy, and we've had WONDERFUL experiences. The L&D/PP nurses are FANTASTIC, and it's great that our peds round at AMH. As far as OB/GYN, I see the midwives @ Seven Hills. I love them all (each for different reasons), and I feel they complement each other very well. Trish just happened to deliver both of the boys. I've only seen the doctors (at Seven Hills) a few times, including rounding at AMH during my PP stay, but they all seem great (again, each for very different reasons). I think there is only one female OB/GYN doc in the practice (other than the midwives, of course) - Dr. Z, maybe?
  • I delivered both babies at Mercy Anderson and also take them to Peds of Mt Carmel. I go to Associates of Anderson OBGYN. They are amazing! There are 3 midwives and 2 male doctors.  I had a midwife with each of my deliveries and love them. They are so personable and easy to talk to.

FWIW, Dr. Peltier came to the hospital when my son was born 2 years ago but no one came from Mt. Carmel when I had my daughter last week. The RN said they are in and out of there and apparently no one was coming over the next day so we had to see the in-house pedi. Which was fine with us and we took her to her first pedi appt Friday but I just wanted to let you know that it isn't a guarantee that someone will come over to the hospital.

  • I see the doctors at 7-hills and I think they are fantastic. There are 2 female docs and 3 males plus they have midwives. Dr Fesenmeier is my primary but I have seen them all either at their offices or in the hospital. I don't have any comment about pedi's coming to Anderson but I know the staff at the hospital were amazing! I spent quite a bit of time in there and I can't complain about one person i encountered. I'm also on my phone so sorry it's not a very thorough response. I absolutely recommend 7-hills.

I don't know about taking DS to kidsfit.  I was fortunate enough to have my dad watch DS whenever I went in.  FWIW....they have a ton of toys at both offices.  I had to bring DS and DD for a random pp visit and DS keeps asking to go back to play with the toys.  :)  There's really only 1 doc in the practice that I'm only lukewarm about.  They are all wonderful.  I've been having some issues since DD was born and have been in and out quite a bit for appts and tests.  At first I felt like I was being silly but my Doc and the staff have been great and take me seriously.

I don't think you would be silly to switch docs if you had a bad experience in the hospital.  But maybe talking to your current doc about your feelings and your experience would help the situation for next time?

  • I had a great experience delivering at Mercy Anderson.  I go to Associates of Anderson and they're all great.  During pregnancy, I preferred the midwives over the 2 male doctors, but Dr. Thress performed my emergency c-section and he was awesome.

  • I also had both my kids at Mercy Anderson and I go to 7 Hills.  I loved the hospital and everyone there!  My pedi also makes rounds there but I am at a different group than you.  There are doctors and midwives at 7 Hills.  I prefered the doctors but I have heard great things about the midwives too.  Good luck with your decision!  I lived in NKY when DD was born and we traveled to OH to have her b/c I had such a great experience and my pedi is awesome so I will not change them at all!  I still see my OB/GYN in Ohio and take the kids to their pedi in Ohio :)
Our kids are 19mths apart and we LOVE it!!

Married to my BFF on 8.13.05 (after dating 5 years)!

DS born 2.14.08. DD born 9.30.09.

  • Ditto what everyone else said.  I had two great experiences at Mercy Anderson.  I go to the Seven Hills docs and my pediatrician drom Eastern Hills does rounds at the hospital.  GL with your decision.

ditto pp... I delivered DD at Mercy Anderson and had an amazing experience. Dr. Feisenmeier did my C-section and he did an awesome job. 7 hills has been awesome!
  • I've seen all the doctors and love them all! I've been very sick with this pregnancy (15 weeks currently) and been in the hospital for 4 days. All of the DRs at Seven Hills have taken the time to listen to me and I couldn't ask for any better treatment. I also suffer from endometriosis and Dr. Ortiz is my main dr. He's very calm, laid back and in no hurry! Love that from the docs at Seven Hills.

  • I didn't deliver at Mercy, but my MIL is one of the delivery nurses there and from what I hear everyone is very sweet (especially her. :) ) but I may be a little biased of course.

Love Seven Hills... love Mercy!  Fleming was my main doctor.  Dr. Ortiz diagnosed my HELLP syndrome and took great care of me.  Dr. Zabrecky ended up delivering my DS and I know I saw Fasenmeier for a few days during my stay as well.  If you hate seeing different doctors, this isn't the office for you.  I personally like the rotation just fine because they all see you at least once and they are all wonderful people.
