Hi ladies! I know I dont post often, but I do have quick question...
I had my first weekly appt this past Thursday {36wks} and it was the first time they've checked me since 20wks... and Dr says Im dilated to 2 1/2cm already! I had no idea!! Is this common? Should I be/have been feeling something? The exam didn't hurt in the least bit, and we got a quick Ultrasound to check the position of Baby S- HEAD DOWN!! Whew, what a relief... we had a 3D ultrasound at 30wks and baby was transverse,... and I honestly believed it was still that way up until a few days before my appt, then I started to feel things in different places, things I hadn't felt before.
So whos dilated? How far will they let you go- isn't 4cm considered labor?
Oh- and for those have been going weekly, will they check you every appt from here on out? How long did you bleed for afterwards?
Thanks ladies, you've all been so great! Its getting SO close!!

Exciting stuff! I've been at 1 for almost three weeks, so I'm jealous...
As for the internals question, yes I get checked out every visit now. I don't bleed much after, just maybe a pantyliner for an hour or two to be safe!

I'm thinking that ameans effaced
Maybe but I find "stretched out" an odd way to phrase it...I mean I know what effacement means. Stretched out just isnt medical.

Yesterday, I was checked and OB told me I was 3cm dilated and LO was at a -2 station. OB said to expect LO around 37-38 weeks. We'll see!! OB will check again at next appt - - and no bleeding for me yesterday.
We visited our friend in the hospital who just had her LO yesterday - it's definitely got me excited to have and hold my LO!!
