Hello creative ladies... I posted a few weeks ago about having mixed feelings about our very traditional nursery.
DH put a ton of work into it and I think it looks great - just doesn't quite look like a baby's room yet (maybe it does and I'm just immune to it).
Here are a couple ideas I've been throwing around... any ideas or pictures are welcome!
frames with favorite baby pictures of family
frames with nature shots
hanging mobile
wall decals
We can replace the plant but the lamp is there to stay - it was DH grandma's who passed away days after we got engaged.
These are the bedding sets we have:

Re: babify this nursery... wwyd PIP
Baby's name (painted or mod-podged scrapbook papered wooden letters) on wall over crib or changing table?
Valance or curtains on window?
Cute canvases for wall?
bunny wall-decals (to match the bedding)? painted name blocks? ultrasound pictures framed? the ABCs framed or in a wall decal form?
I honestly think it looks great as is...very calming and relaxing. But then again, I'm not a huge fan of dr suess or winnie the pooh plastered all over the walls.

These ideas are perfect. By the way, the nursery is already beautiful, and I think you can make it more baby with some nice wall hangings. I also like your idea of a hanging mobile. I've seen some beautiful ones that can add a babyish touch without ruining the traditional feel.
Thanks ladies! As always so much help!
If you run across anything in your own searches, please feel free to share.
Adding a mobile to the crib will help. I don't think it looks too mature as-is, but the room could use some wall art. I'd go with dark wood framed prints of Velveteen Rabbit or something classic like that. I'd skip the wall decals and wood letters spelling out the name- it would take away from the traditional feel. Also keep in mind- toys are coming. So maybe a simpler room will be nicer, overall.
I love the idea of a bookshelf displaying books. A picture rail with a lip or a DIY shelf would really work.
