In the beginning of my pregnancy I worked on my feet all day so I was staying active. I got a new job about a month ago where I sit mostly and am only up and about for a little while. I'm starting to notice that my body is weakening from the job change. I'm scared I'm going to be too out of shape and become exhausted during labor. I also feel really lethargic and can tell that my body needs some moving around
Other than walking, what are you ladies doing to stay fit?
Re: Too late to start exercising?
I'm carrying around an extra 35lbs everywhere I go, doesn't that count?

LOL - right? me too. I try to walk a few times a week. I don't have much energy to do anything else. Every time I hold a baby, my arms get sore right away. I'm going to be in for a rude awakening soon! If I were you, I'd just walk when you can, and if you're up for it, do some arm exercises with light weights 3lbs or less.

Walking, prenatal yoga and water aerobics. I find my energy level increases after a work out.
Hopefully I'll be going snowshoeing tomorrow!
I don't think it's too late to start walking and doing some light exercises. But if you haven't been exercising at least moderately it's not really recommended to start this late.
I'm still working out in a bootcamp type class 3-5 days a week and have been feeling great. I just stopped running this week cause it was starting to get uncomfortable. I totally am for working out while pregnant! Just do what feels comfortable to you.
I do prenatal yoga 1x a week at a class, but do some exercises at home too. A lot of the stuff i do at home are similar to the weekly exercises in the "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" I have started doing the treadmill at home and will add noter yoga class in june when i stop working.
I would talk to your doctor before starting any exercise routine at this point.
If he/she OKs it, swimming is great. I've been doing swimming and water aerobics for months, and it's really fun and a good workout. Not only do I get good exercise, I feel SO light in the water!
