Failed my gest. diabetes test.

and I'm just bummed. I take the 3 hour test on Wednesday morning. I'm trying not to think about it, but for some reason I just have a feeling that it won't be any different and I just have it. I took a peek at her yesterday, and she's measuring an entire pound ahead of schedule, and before she had been right on track. So I'm just not very optimistic. Can anyone share an inspirational story with me??

I'm sure you will be fine

And, worst case scenario, you have GD and it's not that bad. You follow a diet, test your sugar, and everything turns out A-ok

I failed the 1 hr, but passed the 2 hr. My OB put me on the diabetic diet anyway, and I go meet with the dietitian every 2 weeks now. I was totally bummed about it in the beginning (like I actually cried), but it's actually helped me to eat better and make healthier choices for myself and baby. And it's starting to become routine, so I'm hoping that by the end of my pregnancy it'll just be second nature. So I see it as setting my family up for healthier eating in the long run. Plus I don't have to test my sugars since I don't actually have GD! And I've lost a few pounds instead of gained since I started the diet. So it doesn't have to be all bad!

My reading was 146. She acted like this wasn't close to passing at all. Thanks for reading my whining... I'm just feeling sorry for myself today, I guess.

I failed my 1 hour so badly they didn't even schedule the 3 hour they just sent me to a specialist. Like PP said, the diet isn't horrible, I feel tons better, and it isn't the end of the world to get diagnosed with GD as long as you take care of yourself and make sure your sugar levels are good. I had myself a good cry so I know it's frustrating. Keep your chin up and good luck on your 3 hour test.

146 isn't bad at all. Mine was 139, and I passed the three hour with flying colors. Honestly, I'd be surprised if you didn't pass the 3 hour.

Ditto above. My dr. called me at work to give me the news and I sat in one of our back offices and cried for a good hour or so. Now I find it interesting to see what affects my sugar levels and can look at it scientifically instead of emotionally.

My mother's test results for GD were always borderline when she was pregnant with me. I was born at 42? weeks, 20 minutes after induction at 7 pounds and change. Not so bad for having blood sugar issues, I think.

I feel just like you last week when I found out I failed the 1 hr. I took the 3 hr on wednesday this week and got the call next day that I passed with very good numbers (and this is with failing my 1st with a high number). So like others told me last week when I was down about the 1 hr. Wait to take the 3 since most likely you'll pass it!!
