Babies on the Brain

I think they read my vent this morning

Because we have had a somewhat nice morning for the first time in a while.  I'm sure saying that will completely jinx this afternoon but oh well.

I've been able to sit here in relative peace for 10 minutes at a time.  More than once even!  Yeah, I should have used the time to clean but I needed the break.  LOL.  They've played nicely for the most part, and have only fought badly enough for me to intervene once.

Also, this 1-2-3 Magic thing seems to work pretty well from the first time you use it.  Granted I've only had to start the counting a few times each, but Nathan caught on really fast, after only one timeout.  Riley hasn't even been in timeout yet, because I only have to get to 2 with her and she immediately stops what she's doing.  I'm sure it won't work perfectly all the time, but holy cow just the last few hours have been a major MAJOR improvement over normal.  My blood pressure feels lower than it has in weeks.

If this keeps up then I will be highly recommending this book to everyone with a toddler.

That's great!  I may have to look into it.  Is it naptime yet?  It is here.  Yes

Not naptime for almost another hour.  But for the first time in a while I don't feel like I'm going to go completely insane before they even go down for a nap.

I forget that you're a couple of time zones away.  Guess it's a bit early for a nap.  I'm pretty sure K is usually in bed for the night before you've started cooking dinner too.  Hope your day continues to be awesome!

  • I love that book!  I attended a class and read the book when I was working at a preschool during college.  It worked really well for us too.  Glad to hear you have a better morning.

  • The key is consistency (says the woman without toddlers).  Kids have a crazy 6th sense and if you don't follow through 1 time they figure it out and exploit that for ever!
