NTR: I am going to wear my mini and heels forever

I am watching the Today Show and they are talking about a survey where women voted ages that we should stop wearing certain items. The results are below. I am turning 38 soon and you are going to have to pry my stilettos and mini skirts out of my cold dead hands. (not that I wear them together) Oh and WTF are you supposed to wear to go swimming if you can't wear any swim suit after 61?? I guess you should just invest in some baggy cotton house dresses and slippers and never leave the house after 50.

    A lot of these things shouldn't be worn after 1994.  I think when an older person wears a "boob tube" it looks ridiculous because they are no longer in style.  Where a younger person can pull off a 'retro' look.

    I don't think I even know what a boob tube is unless they are talking about a tube top. Which I wear while working in the yard so I don't get tan lines. 

    Some of it I wouldn't wear because it is not my style, leather pants, sheer shirt, belly piercing are in the list of not my style. Also trainers, which I assume they mean athletic shoes, I am not a sporty girl.

    But to say you shouldn't wear a swimsuit after 60? Whatever! Plus when I am old I am not going to give a sheet what other people think.

    What they should tell women not to wear are sweaters and shirts with embroidered birds or characters on them. I want to go through my mom's closet and burn every sweatshirt and turtleneck she owns.

    I think it really depends on each person.  I really think if you have an amazing body you can get away with a bikini for a really long time. My MIL is 65 (or something like that) i hate her guts but she has the sickest body i have ever seen.. she actually has a six pack and muscle arms.  I think she should wear a bikini in her grave.  But if i saw her wear knee high boots, i would laugh.

    I personally haven't wore a bikini since my son's birth.  maybe one day :

    What if you don't look your age??  I'll be 38 in July and I don't feel the need to give up mini skirts.  I don't wear boob tubes or leather pants so that's not an issue and I don't have a belly piercing.  However, I am glad that I have a few more years for long hair and ponytails!

    I totally agree! I would way rather see an older woman wearing most of these clothes tastefully than some of those turtleneck/embroidered sweater combos! I think instead of this list there should be a list of what NEVER to wear no matter what your age.

    This!  I seriously want to tell my mom those shirts need to die. 

    As for some of that I'm sorry what the hell is the big deal with a woman wearing knee high boots or sneakers?  Thats just idiotic.
