Looks like the Easter Bunny delivered an EXTRA SPECIAL egg this year!
I just POAS yesterday morning and we've decided not to share our news until the first tri is over so please don't say anything on Facebook. We're not even going to tell my mom (who lives with us) since she'll be out of town until the end of June anyway. But, I've been DYING to spill the beans and know my secret is safe with you ladies!
So, here's what happened...
On Easter Sunday, the CBEFM had a low reading that morning and It was only CD12 and I had no fertile CM and have never ovulated before CD17, so I thought we were "safe" that night...well imagine my surprise when the next morning the CBEFM read PEAK and I had tons of EWCM.
J and I burst into a fit of giggles and he said, jokingly, "but we only did it ONE time!" LOL! Guess this baby REALLY wanted to join us now and not in 5 months, as we had planned to officially TTC in September.
So, it looks like Libby will be getting a baby brother or sister for her second birthday. My EDD is January 16, 2012. This was the same cycle that I concieved Libby two years ago...so weird!
I had a feeling I might be PG about a week ago because I started to get really nauseaus in the morning when I'd nurse Libby. I am also incredibly tired in the afternoons, just like last time around, AND super hungry and thirsty, also like last time. AF was due yesterday and I POAS and got a BFP! I did a CBE Digital on Sunday afternoon (left over from 2009 with an ex. of 05/11, so I figured, what the heck!?) and it said, "not pregnant" but I still felt I might be so I bought a three-pack of FRERs and when I got nauseaus early Wednesday morning while nursing Libby I decided to POAS.
It was about 3 a.m. and I came to bed and said, "I'm pregnant!" J thought I was joking. So I showed him the stick and he said, "well it's not as dark as the other line." (that pic above is not my stick, but one I snagged off the internet). And I reminded him that a line is a line. Later, when he was fully awake, he called me at work and said, "Oh, I totally see it now. Hooray!"
We're super excited and nervous too. I just want everything to go smoothly and hope that the baby and I are healthy throughout the pregnancy. I am also concerned about the timing just a bit, because J will be just starting his third semester of clinical training, which is rumored to be the toughest. That's why we were planning for a May or June 2012 baby. But my mom will be here and I know she'll help us so he can focus on school. Finally, after what happened when I was on maternity leave last time (almost losing my job and being demoted), that makes me nervous too. But most of all, I am THRILLED to have another little one on the way.

My thoughts exactly! OHH EMM GEE!!
So happy for you and your family! And don't stress about the "what ifs," I'm sure everything will come together just like it's supposed to
I totally thought the same thing!
Congratulations Lori! That is super exciting! yay!!!
Ditto! Congrats!
It's so crazy that everyone is on round 2. And how easily everyone is getting KU the second time around! I better be extra careful since we're totally not ready for #2!
LOL...yeah, it seems like something is up again with the water
. i'm not ready to drink it yet either lol.
I love Hawaii!

I had a feeling, too! It was taking a bit for the photo to load, but I was hoping to see a BFP pic. Huge congrats to you, J and Libby! She will be a great big sister!
OMG this is so weird...I was thinking about you yesterday, and I kept thinking you were KU and had to keep reminding myself that you weren't. But you were! Maybe I'm psychic.
Anyway...CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!
P.S. You know, if you have another girl, Lisa is a nice name...

Holy moly! You ARE psychic! LOL! I thought of you after I got my BFP because J, in all seriousness said, "Will you be disappointed if it's not twins?" WTH? I chalk that up to it being 3 a.m. when I told him. LOL!
And can you believe I deviated from The Plan? I guess I've grown a lot. Seriously. I was a little freaked out at first...but eh!? What's 5 months in the history of life? It really nice that it "just happened" and I won't have to endure months of charting and going through the 2WW each time! J also reminded me that at this pace, we certainly could pop out one more before I am 40 (he's QUITE the comedian)!
Honestly, I'll be surprised if it's not a girl...don't ask me why. That said, we have NO girl names picked out at all, but do have a boy name already (we liked it when I was PG with Libby). So we shall see...

hehe. hopefully some day, i can deviate from The Plan too! i'm clearly not there yet...
CONGRATULATIONS!! I was hoping that's what this post was about when i opened it. YAY!!!
You rebel, you! And here I thought I was being daring when we first decided to TTC two months earlier than I originally had in our Plan. I bet you're going to shave your head and start piercing obscure bodyparts now.

Kind of a relief, no? I was dreading BBT and full-on charting. I had just started using the CBEFM with expired sticks just to see if I was even ovulating! LOL! I have heard that in addition to a woman's monthly fertility, women also have an annual cycle...that may be the key behind so many families having mutliple children with birthdays close to each other. I don't know. My BFF's kids are 23.5 months apart and I have another friend who has kids 24.5 months apart. If that's the case I'll know that from Tax Time until Mother's Day we better be sure that we're using contraception!
So, since your EDD is close to Alexa's bday, are you at all worried about jealousy, etc.? I doubt we'll be able to have a real 2nd birthday party of Libby since we'll have a 1-2 week old newborn. In the coming years, I want to be sure that their birthdays don't get "lumped together" KWIM? Even as a twin, eventually we had separate birthday parties. Since we're the week of Thanksgiving my mom always planned one party for the first weekend in November and other other for the second and we alternated every other year who got the first one. It worked. Although I am sure her funds were shot come Christmas!

wow!!! congrats, Lori!!!
so happy for you and that's great that it happened w/o the worries and stresses of charting. i guess i am the only one who saw this post and didn't think you were going to have a BFP announcement LOL....since ericka had posted about getting the DSLR, i somehow thought you were going to tell us you got a camera for mother's day LOL
anyway, congrats again
i hope the m/s doesn't get worse and you have a H&H 9 months
maybe you can have your mom help plan the majority of Libby's 2nd bday party since you won't have much time for it?

Thanks Jamie! I have taken to having crackers before nursing Libby, especially in the early AM and that has helped a ton. As for her party...well...unless we make more friends, it'll be the same folks as last year and we might just do it in February then. We shall see. Libby LOVES birthdays! She still wears her hat from time to time and has this Leap Frog Counting Candles Birthday Cake toy she adores. So I doubt it'll be okay with her to just skip it altogether. We shall see! For now, I just want to focus on trying to wean her! I planned to have her weaned by August for TTC in September. Now? I gotta figure out how to get her weaned so I don't end up tandem nursing. Oy.
