Looks like Canon is very popular choice. Where did you all purchase your cameras from? I want to get a good deal if I'm going to "ball out" and get a big boy camera. lol.

We have this camera and we got it at Best Buy. We LOVE it and recommend it to everyone. It's not currently on sale, but I believe it goes on sale fairly often for about 20 or 30 bucks less. It's also one they have at the store, so you can go play around with it and see what you think. If you are a rewards member, the price will get you some some Best Buy rewards later, so you might consider factoring that into the price as well
I am a professional and I love my Canon's. I use the following two places to get my cameras.
B&H Photo or Adorama
FIL bought us ours from best buy but I would have used B&H as you can usually get a better deal. Best Buy they were able to sell us a bundle and we got a lens I wanted really bad for 1/2 price within the bundle. So I guess I would check prices at a few places.

if you buy from amazon you don't have to pay tax. If you buy from Best Buy online, you most likely will have to pay since there is a store in your area. Best Buy doesn't really have great deals. I would go with Amazon if I were you. Sometimes local camera stores ( here in So Cal, we have Samy's Camera) is nice b/c you might be able to get a refurbished one for cheaper... good luck!
BTW- I recommended on your previous post the Canon G11. It is a cross between an SLR and a point and shoot. A professional photographer recommended it to me as being the best "hybrid"- plus you can get great video on it as well.

I order everything from B&H. They are absolutely awesome. They're super consistent, always have the lowest prices of anyone reputable and have really great customer service. I don't shoot with a Canon system, but I don't even want to add up the amount I've spent on photo gear with them over the years.
