AW: First night in big boy bed

I know, I know...it's too early...but, we had a crib and once we raised the rail it fell apart (oops) so we trashed it. So he's been happily sleeping in his pack-n-play for a year now, but he's really outgrown it (like I find him with his legs up the sides in the morning). And he naps on a cot at daycare for 2-3 hours every day no problem. Plus, we are having a big G_Sale this weekend so I figured this was my chance to A) sell the pack-n-play ...and B) get the hand-me-down toddler bed out of the basement where it was taking up precious storage room.

We have a small house so I always hear him if he wakes up - which he did at 4am (been waking up early thirsty lately, hmmm) and he woke up, said "Mama, Mama" and came right to my bed, asked for milk and fell back asleep after a 1/2 cup. Then he went and played on it until it was time to go. So far so good.

Oh, and my $3 trick to keep him from falling out worked great!

  • That's great that he stayed in & I LOVE that $3 idea, I will definitely do that when we are ready to make the move to a big bed!

  • Sounds like he's on the right track! I'm keeping that $3 idea for when Ella transitions, although I'm hoping she won't figure out how to climb out until she's 3! :)

  • Omg...that noodle idea is brilliant!! We have a faller-outter in this house. :)

I love that bed, and there have been many kiddos that transitioned to toddler beds just fine at that age!
