Contractions?

So I was walking my dogs yesterday and I had cramping. it came in waves, i could not walk thru the cramp because it made it worse. So I dragged my dogs home, laid on the couch on my side and drank a whole bottle of water, than I did some pelvic rocks which made the cramping go away.

Im going to mention this to my OB at my next appt but has anyone had these this early in the third tri?

I know you can start having braxton hicks which i've had (not painful) these were midly painful.. Just wondering..

Re: Contractions?

  • I'm right there with you. I've had two nights where I've had to wake up my husband bc the pain was intense and coming every 3 min. Last night I was having them every 5 minutes but they only lasted about 35 minutes. Most of the time I just have BH. Luckily I have an OB appt today so I'll see what she has to say.

if they go away they are BH.  Atleast thats what my DR told me.  BH are not supposed to hurt but they can.  I had BH for a whole week, they were extremely painful and I had to stay off my feet and drink water.  It really helped.  Tru contractions progress no matter how much water your drink.

Def bring it up to your OB and ask for an ffn (or is it ffp) to be safe.

    SURPRISE! Here comes #3!
  • I had them on Sunday night after a weekend spent gardening and working around the house.  I drank 32 oz of water and within an hour they went away.  Talked to the OB at my appt today and they said usu due to dehydration but any more than 6 an hour and I should call the OB on call.  I've had BH so know what they feel like.  I had an NST(pre-scheduled not due to this) on Monday afternoon and they picked up mild contractions but the nurse said they couldn't tell by the trace if it was BH or "real" contractions.  No one seemed concerned.

  • Be careful with this ladies... I thought I was having braxton hicks ... called the doctor yesterday morning since my next appt isn't next week.  Went in and my cervix was thinning out. :[  They now put me on Nifedipine 4 times a day and I am on mild bedrest.   If you feel like you need to call do it... I thought it was nothing really.
