I KNEW it was Bob Cat!!!

Unfortunately, I had PoopCam turned off during the actual deed, but when I turned it on, and saw freshly laid poo, and then went on a search mission and found him walking on the kitchen counters [a big no-no] and Packer sleeping serenely in her kitty tent, I'm pretty darn sure who the culprit is! Dang it!!! Any ideas on how to punish him or get him to stop doing this? He used to poop right next to the old litter box if it wasn't clean enough. Now he is pooping two feet away from the Cat Genie. The thing that irks me the most? Next to his pile of poo were crystals from the Cat Genie. That little stinker had been IN the Genie and then go out to go poo!

  • Yuck.  I have no idea how to make him stop... I used to belong to a cat forum and it was really helpful, but I don't even remember the address anymore.  Maybe you should ask over ot the Pets board.

  • LOL uh oh Bob Cat!  We have a cat that does the same thing - poops outside the box if it's too dirty or if she's upset about anything.  Unfortunately, it sounds like Bob Cat may not like your new Cat Genie!  Do you have another litter box he could use if he prefers?

  • I thought about putting out his old litter box in that spot, but I'm not sure what that will accomplish. If I put it there and keep it clean, then he'll just use that and not the new one. If I keep it there and don't clean it [which Cat Genie forum posts suggest] then he'll just start pooping beside it again. I thought of either locking him in the room with it overnight, and then constantly monitoring him as soon as we let him back out in the morning or placing their food bowls on the pooping location [hoping he won't just find a new spot to poo].
