Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How much do you really remember....

...about being pregnant?

I got a BFP this morning and while i'm very excited since we've been actively TTGP since January I'm starting to get a little nervous. Now that it's starting to sink in I'm realizing that all I remember about being pregnant was that I didn't like the way I felt (m/s, back pain, etc) and it wasn't even that long ago. When I was going through it the first time I could probably tell you to the day when certain symptoms started or I hit certain milestones. Now it all seems like a blur. Am I the only one with pregnancy amnesia?

Re: How much do you really remember....

  • The only thing I can remember is trying everything in the world to have Emily be born as my due date was approaching and then as I proceeded to go two weeks over just giving up. haha. Oh and feeling like a huge whale as I waddled from place to place.

    DD#1 is 3! And LO#2 is on his/her way! Due Feb 26th, 2014.

BFP#1: EDD 5/7/2010 born on 5/20/2010. A little girl named Emily.

    BFP#2: m/c 10/29/2012 EDD was 6/21/2012 Baby Hope was 6 weeks 3 days.

BFP#3: Twin B stopped growing at 8 weeks and 5 days. Found on 8/10/2014. EDD was 2/26/2014. Twin A is still doing great and due date is 2/26/14.

  • Totally pregnancy amnesia here. Funny, my mother told me it would happen. I remember most of what you said you did as well, but other than that, not too much. I think I do remember enough to know that I want to wait a little while before another one!

  • First- CONGRATS!!!

Now, to answer your question- You are definately not the only one with pregnancy amnesia.  I can't remember much of anything as far as being uncomfortable, but I know I was.  Part of me wonders, though, if I was just a little less mature than I am now and had more time to be whiny than I would now...you can only be so whiny as you chase around your toddler ;)   I think I'd enjoy pregnancy more this time but who knows.

  • Congrats!

I actually feel like I remember a lot. I had a bad pregnancy with horrible morning sickness, gallbladder problems, PTL, etc. I still remember being soo uncomfortable, and awkward. I also remember how crazy it felt when he would move, and kick, and jab lol.

I miss it and can't wait to be pregnant again!

I remember nothing.  It's kind of scary.  Maybe preg-nesia is how my Mom ended up with 6 kids.
  • Congrats! I know that I was really sick and really miserable for most of my pregnancy and kept saying I would never do it again. I remember talking to my cousin's wife who has 2 kids and she kept telling me I would forget about the bad parts and miss being pregnant one day. I told her she was nuts if she thought I would miss it. Well, i actually do find myself missing it lately. I guess everyone gets pregnancy amnesia at some point or else most people would only have one baby. I also think I am more tolerant of discomfort/pain after my pregnancy and c-section and would be more prepared next time.

  • Congrats! I don't remember much either. I remember being uncomfortable at the end and my hips hurting. I vaguely remember morning sickness. That's about it, lol!

DD isn't even 9 months yet, but I remember it all.  It was awful and something I do NOT want to experience again.

This. But I want more kids, so I guess I'll have to hope the memory fades.

  • I had an active easy pregnancy, and I still remember enough to never want to do it again. I have zero desire to get pregnant, stay pregnant, be pregnant, recover, etc. Thank god I got two the first round.

I think we are programed to forget pregnancy and labor so that we'll have more kids :)

  • Congratulations!

I definitely remember throwing up 12 times a day, praying I could make it to and from work w/o vomiting and being hospitalized for dehydration.  All things that may prevent me from having another.
