Re: Need suggestions for 1st Birthday Party place

  • Some Michaels craft stores have a party room.  I had my daughter's 3rd birthday party at the Michael's in Issaquah.  I brought in plain cupcakes for the kids to frost and decorate.  Michaels provided the room, the frosting, the decorations, and set-up/clean-up.  It only cost $50.

They have other options for crafts if you don't want to do cupcake decorating.

  • A bouncy house place? There are lots in the area. Gymboree Plays are fun too. I am thinking about doing DD's at Little Gym this year.
  • I think TWIRL CAFE on Queen Anne would be perfect! They have a party room and a wonderful play area. Much brighter and more charming than the museums or kiddie restaurants. We are looking at it for Birthday # 2. I think the $225 exclusive use birthday package is pretty reasonable considering the atmosphere and built-in activity.
  • It depends on which part of 'Seattle' you live in, but in my neck of the woods, the Parks & Rec department has a great place for birthday parties, indoor and out - so maybe check with yours? I've also noticed that many businesses that cater to little ones will often have a private room for events, so if you spot one as you're out driving, give them a call. Another option that's less kid-centered is to find a restaurant you like and see if they have a private room. HTH!

  • I was thinking about those Gymboree, Little Gym, Jungle Gym places, but the problem is DD is the only toddler, the other kids will be between 5yrs to 9yrs old.

Do you think older kids still want to play there?

    Thanks
