Some people cut up the bumper and frame the fabric for artwork. If the set doesn't come with window valances, and you sew, you can make window dressings out of it.
I just stored it in the closet for if we later re-sell the set, I'll include the bumper in the resale.
I don't know how to display a bumper in a cute way but DH and I are just going to keep ours in. I figure the bassinet we'll be using can pose the same risks as a bumper and we're not planning on using the crib for a few months so hopefully by then, it shouldn't be too bad. But who knows, we may change our minds when the time comes!
We will have her in our room until about 5 months so in the meantime the bumper just makes the crib look nice.
I should google it, I bet there are things you can do with the bumper.

I'm going to *attempt* to make a valance out of our bumper. I have a plan in my head that seems like it will work well. I am not starting it until we get the mattress and everything else set up, so I can take some pictures of everything put together, though.
