For those that have interviewed/chosen pedis

We had our first pedi interview yesterday afternoon.  It went really well and we are very happy having her as an option.  We have 1 other pedi (group practice) we are interviewing at the end of the month.

However, it occurred to DH and I that the pedi approached the interview as if we were definitely going with her.  (ex. she started a file on us, set things up so they would be prepared when our hospital called, etc.)  Which I suppose makes sense from her POV, but we are not going to make a final decision until after we meet this other group on the 23rd.

So for people who interviewed more than 1 pedi, did you have to then call back all ones you didn't choose and let them know you were going with someone else?

Re: For those that have interviewed/chosen pedis

  • Our hospital said that after the baby was born, they will ask which pediatrician we are going with and they will contact them. The pediatric group we chose only rounds at the hospital I'll be delivering at which makes things a lot easier for us.

  • I wouldn't worry about it.  If you don't have them called by the hospital, it won't be an issue.

  • We told the hospital who the pedi was (actually we wrote it in our birthplan and had it faxed to the hospital before I went into labor)

  • No, I think it will be clear enough if you dont have the hospital call them. It is just good business to get you all settled in.
