I just posted the results of the trial below.
Fant was assigned to the case hours after Shelton and Clark were shot at an east Charlotte apartment complex.
In testimony Monday, Fant admitted he threw away some investigative notes and rewrote other inadequate notes by using his colleagues' documentation of the case. He said he copied and pasted another officer's notes into documents he later submitted as his own.
On Tuesday, Fant added another surprise. Minutes before trial, he phoned his supervisors and suggested they retrieve a box of files near his desk. He hasn't been allowed in the office. But the files, he explained, might contain some of his original case notes.
Detectives brought the box to court soon after Tuesday's proceedings began and said it contained little about the case, other than a mention of sympathy cards sent to the Shelton family.
Montgomery's lawyers argue that Fant's revelation Tuesday indicates such disorganization and disregard for evidence rules that the whole investigation is tainted.

I disagree. Yankee makes nice/usefull comments but those do not get noticed. No one says Oh wow look at how nice Yankee was or thanks for the useful tip Yankee even when it is warrented. We don't always agree with each other but I like her honesty.
What does posting about her family have to do with anything? If you pay attention she mentions things about them. Maybe it isn't the standard AW post but she talks about them. We all know what she does, how many kids she has & thier ages (roughly) and other small personal details. I could probably come up with more stuff about her family but it would take me some time. Just like it would take time for me to recall personal info about any bumpie.

Yankee - I have NO idea what you've been through in your life. I don't know what has or has not happened that brings about your point of view. I know everyone is affected by what they have seen and heard. In my opinion, some days you seem very angry. I may be wrong, but that is one thing about these boards that is bad: You can't hear tone of voice.
Just know that not everyone who says the wrong thing is racist/prejudiced/etc. There are things that I have said to friends and family memebrs that, looking back on it, have sounded mean. And not even things regarding race, just things that I now know would hurt someone's feelings. I really hope you don't take this the wrong way. I'm not trying to be mean! I guess all I am saying is don't be so quick to jump on any lady on these boards who may have written something that can be taken the wrong the way. I guess I always give people the benefit of the doubt and I hope you will too.

FWIW, I actually agree with you. It's more a case of ignorance. I suggested she just say, "Oops, I misunderstood what I read" and move on, but then she started to make posts about the perp having cornrows and such and S-P-E-L-L-I-N-G at me. She simply won't admit she made a mistake.
If MML simply made a mistake by saying that the perp got a lighter sentence by virtue of being black, and if she made a bigger mistake by posting that website to prove her point, we might just roll our eyes and chalk it up to ignorance. But the fact that she continues to defend this line of thinking makes me question her motives.
I totally get what you're saying and I ususally agree with you. But MMML said this person avoided the death penalty because he was black. When she couldn't provide any links to prove that, she posted an OP ED piece from the blog of a white supremacist. She then went on to make disparaging remarks about black people having cornrows. I suppose next she'll say he asked for watermelon and fried chicken as his last meal.
