keyfits work for us too and ours are still in theirs. Even though we have little peanuts though, they are getting too heavy to carry in them, so we just started taking them out and carrying them without them.

We had the Graco Snugrides with the Graco Quattro Tour Duo stroller - loved them! My girls were tiny and they fit really well in the Snugrides without needing a bunch of blankets to keep them upright. Also loved that stroller and used it consistently until just a few months ago.
We have the Snugride 35's and our boys are still using them. We do love them and they are certainly doing their job, but I will be honest and say that the carrier alone is pretty heavy to begin with, add the weight of your baby itself and the thing gets heavy very quickly!
I know it lasts up to 35 lbs and whatever length, but I don't think there is any MoM willing to still carry their babies in carriers anywhere near 35 lbs. You may want to test hold each of them and see if the Keyfit is considerably lighter. If so, I would go with that. JMO though

We opted for Graco Snugride 32s and a DSNG (when they were smaller). I have nothing but positive things to say about the seats themselves. My babies are still in them but they're too heavy to carry in/out so we just leave the seats in the car.
We had the Snugrides and while they are not as nice looking as the KeyFits, they are some of the lightest infant seats. We did the Snugride 22s and at 6 months old, they are out of them. It was getting too heavy to carry and they just seemed unhappy in them.
The Keyfit has a larger weight range than the Snugride (holds babies under 5 lbs) and that's a huge benefit to it. I didn't know this when we shopped infant seats.
I never considered the Graco seats. We have the KeyFit 30's and love them. We'll definitely not use them up to 30 pounds. Already with the kids being 11-13 pounds the seats are getting too heavy for me. But I love the convenience of transporting them in the seats/dsng.
Honestly my babies are so petite in frame that I think we'd outgrow the seat in length before we'd ever come close to outgrowing them in height.
If it's a $$ I'd say you definitely don't need the 30 pound upper end limit. Unless you were going to wait as long as possible to put them in the convertible CS's. Right now my friend (has a KeyFit 30) just leaves the infant seat in her car like a regular car seat and just carries her kids out to the car and buckles him in and then unbuckles him and puts him in a regular stroller so she can extend the life of her car seat without carrying a 30 pound carrier.
We have Graco Snugrides and our babies are out of them just because they're too heavy for me to carry. The model I have doesn't let me adjust the straps easily which is a PITA, the bases are big and take up too much space in my car, and the handle isn't very comfortable when you carry it. Plus the ones we have only go up to 29" and 22 pounds. Our babies always surpass the length limit before they even get close to the weight limit which is really annoying.
Mom to six awesome kids - Levi is 12, Landen is 8, Gabrielle is 6, Lucas is 3, and Oliver and Samuel are 2 years old. Love my crew.
We picked the keyfit 22, i liked that they are rated for babies as small as 4lbs, and the side impact protection. no experience using them yet, but they look nice :P
We had the Keyfit (22lb) with DD. I am buying another one from a friend. That is what we will use for the twins. My DD outgrew it around 10 mos but by then she was too heavy to carry in the seat anyway.
With DD we used the Keyfit 30 and I plan to just get another one for the twins.
I actually carried DD in it till 10(?) months... but she was also always under the 5th% for weight. She actually reached the "total" length limit for the seat first, and she was almost within the 1" rule for the top of the seat when we got her a a new one at a year old.
I never used a SNG with it... and from what I have read Graco seats actually "snap" into them, while Chiccos need to have a strap hooked through them like a seatbelt (correct/forgive me if I'm worng here) so that my be something to think about.
I still plan to get another Chicco 30 : )
