I hope I am not stepping on any toes, but I thought I would get us started this week.  I thought we could post some of the personal goals we had for the week and check in on Friday to see how we did.

Health goals?

  • Hello, Dollface! i am so glad this weekend is behind us.

    Health goals? vitamins, acupuncture, gentle yoga and whole, fresh healthy foods

    Fitness goals? stop eating so much sugar! and be outside more!

    Mental/Emotional goals? rest, relax, meditate, love DH, read a non PG book

    Spiritual goals? (for those that want to) pray and fellowship, summer service project.

    Last week was pretty good... did yoga 3x, acupuncture, ate well, but no runs (but I'll blame that on being in the 2WW)...  

     

    Health Goals:  Continue eating more fruit (I love veggies, but prefer chocolate to fruit)... plan to bring a banana, apple, or orange to work with me every day.   Also have some great dinner items on the menu.... eggplant/zucchini/onion/mushroom garlic naan pizzas, sweetpotato bean burritos, veggie thai red curry stirfry, veggie baked ziti...  Acupuncture on Wednesday.

    Fitness: I don't think I'm going to make yoga at all until Sat.  Would go tomorrow, but it's H's bday.... I might try to fit a run or two in, well see.

    Mental:  Continue to 'react' maturely... not get sucked into pity parties.  Also not to let MF take over....

    ...also noteworthy for the week, I have my initial RE visit on Thursday.  I'm not expecting much, just a review of history and probably a request panel for CD3 bloodwork .... **hoping I don't get to CD3**

    Thanks! It's from Tiffany & Co. they have it in a few sizes and gold or silver. I actually mentioned it a few months ago but I never got it so i figured he forgot. It's designed by Elsa Peretti, The Bean as the origin of life. He said it was perfect. It touched me b/c he wasn't overly concerned with my reaction to Mother's Day last week.

  • Health goals:  Stick to my 1500 calorie diet!  Lose 1-1.5 lbs.

    Fitness goals: Work out at least 3 times this week.  Take Austin for a walk twice, if he is not getting sick. He just threw up, poor guy.

    Mental/Emotional goals: Well I hate to say it, but theBump is taking over my life.  I will sit on the computer all day and watch and respond.  This week I am limmiting myself to only 2 hours a day on theBump (I am almost there already today).  That is still a lot, but it will require me to get off my butt and do my other goals.

    Spiritual:  My sister and I are the devotion leaders at a Christian music camp this summer.  I want to get 1/2 of the book read that is going to be the basis of the devotions.  

    Other: Today it has been 3 months since we said goodbye to Grant.  I am determined to keep myself busy.  I plan on spending time outside in the yard today.  DH and I started a project outside yesterday that is going to take us a while to finish.  I want ot work on that a bit today.

  • Oh R, I love that he got you the Tiff Bean for a memorial necklace.  I've been looking for something that isn't an 'obvious' memorial necklace... love that idea!  So thoughtful of him too!

    I am volunteering w/ a resale boutique for homeless women.

    Health goals? Not doing too good with eating!  We aren't doing much cooking since we are starting to move this weekend.  But one of my big goals is to start new good habits after the move.  I'm gonna start scouting new recipes in between packing today. 

    Fitness goals?  I've been fairly active, but very busy so exercise for the sake of exercise isn't really happening right now.

    Mental/Emotional goals? I think I'm doing best in this area.  I got a lot of support on Mother's Day from my family and even a few presents: my parents are going to plant a rose bush in honor of our spirit baby, and my mom gave me a little vintage angel baby knick knack that is so precious, plus my sister gave me a cute book of dogs in costumes.  I started working on a new writing project over the weekend, too.  I was having trouble staying engaged with the one I started before getting pg/my m/c, so I shelved it for now.  I think it was a good choice that will help me be more productive and give me a better outlet for some of my feelings.  I'm also feeling really optimistic about this cycle and a whole lot more relaxed than I did last cycle.

    Spiritual goals? (for those that want to) I have been thinking a lot about ways to bring more peace into my life.  I'm considering finding a church in my new neighborhood.

    made them up mostly.  The sweet potato bean burritos I found on a blog (I thought the blogger was a ttcal bumpie, but I forget her sn) I posted that recipe in my blog last week.   Everything else is pretty much the different ways we cook our veggies every week... saute them up and throw them with something!

    Health goals? Not doing too good with eating!  We aren't doing much cooking since we are starting to move this weekend.  But one of my big goals is to start new good habits after the move.  I'm gonna start scouting new recipes in between packing today.

    another guilty of being on here too much... the problem is my work flow comes in swings... being an analyst, I'm busy during certain weeks of the month doing month end analysis and certain times of the year doing half year and qtrly budgets... other than that, I have some down town....   I try hard to not bump at home, but somehow I always sneak on....

  • Hi ladies! 

    Health goals?
    Definitely eat better. Yesterday was DH's birthday and I ate too much cake. So the plan is to start on the cycle diet, and hopefully lose 2lbs by the end of the week.
    We have a farmer's market on Thursdays so I can can't wait to go shop for great meat and produce!

    Fitness goals?
    I didn't make it to yoga last week, stupid AF was being a pain. So I want to go Wednesday & Saturday (DH comes along on Saturdays) this week and continue this way. Also, I need to put myself on the treadmill at least 15mins/day. if not more.

    Mental/Emotional goals?
    I've been upset at my body. Why was I able to get pregnant right away both times, and now it's been 2 cycles and still nothing. It doesn't make any sense to me, but maybe it is better to wait a few cyles than having another loss? I don't know but I need to stop obsessing with TTC and just relax.

    Other goals
    Paint my house! Kitchen is done, but dining and living room need to get done!

    Health Goals:  Continue eating more fruit (I love veggies, but prefer chocolate to fruit)... plan to bring a banana, apple, or orange to work with me every day.   Also have some great dinner items on the menu.... eggplant/zucchini/onion/mushroom garlic naan pizzas, sweetpotato bean burritos, veggie thai red curry stirfry, veggie baked ziti...  Acupuncture on Wednesday.

    Fitness: I don't think I'm going to make yoga at all until Sat.  Would go tomorrow, but it's H's bday.... I might try to fit a run or two in, well see.

    Mental:  Continue to 'react' maturely... not get sucked into pity parties.  Also not to let MF take over....

    ...also noteworthy for the week, I have my initial RE visit on Thursday.  I'm not expecting much, just a review of history and probably a request panel for CD3 bloodwork .... **hoping I don't get to CD3**

    I hope you won't get to CD3!!! FX for you that this is your cycle!

    Thanks! It's from Tiffany & Co. they have it in a few sizes and gold or silver. I actually mentioned it a few months ago but I never got it so i figured he forgot. It's designed by Elsa Peretti, The Bean as the origin of life. He said it was perfect. It touched me b/c he wasn't overly concerned with my reaction to Mother's Day last week.

    Mental/Emotional goals: Well I hate to say it, but theBump is taking over my life.  I will sit on the computer all day and watch and respond.  This week I am limmiting myself to only 2 hours a day on theBump (I am almost there already today).  That is still a lot, but it will require me to get off my butt and do my other goals.


    I hear ya, Abbey!  I have no discipline when it comes to bumping.  Good luck sticking to your new limit! 

    My goodness, I'm drawing a line to limiting my bump schedule!

    Well...it's official... I hit my limit for the day.  If you need me I will be back tomorrow...or maybe a quick check tonight.  I need to be strong!

    Health goals? 
    I'm also for eating better this week, but there is one day with will be hard. We grabbed some gold king crab legs that were on sale, and there will be butter involved, I'm sure! Other than that, I'll be sticking back to my 1500 kCal/day and back to 8 glasses of water. I've also added POM to my day, and we'll see where it takes me. 

    Fitness goals?
    I got a bike! I went for my first ride on Saturday with DH and Tele. The boys rode/ran much faster than me, as my only goal was to get used to moving that way again. Plus, DH got one of the new style mountain bikes with 29" tires. They are much more efficient, to it takes less energy to go further. Io, I just let them out pace me and did my own thing. My goal for this week is to either ride or continue with my Wii Fit every day.

    Mental/Emotional goals? 
    Yesterday, I did something that I'm proud of. When I was talking with my mom, I mentioned that it had been a really sad day. She got confused and thought it was maybe it would have been a milestone date with my pregnancy that made us sad. I had to explain to her that we were sad because it was Mother's Day, and we lost our child. Once she was on the same page in the conversation, she shared in our sadness and admitted that she was just burying her grief because she couldn't talk to anyone. (When we first got our BFP and told my parents, we did the typical 'don't tell anyone yet' thing)

    I told her that I've decided that our culture's insistence on making this a taboo subject is wrong. I told her that I've decided to be completely open about our loss to anyone that wants to talk about it, and so should she. We agreed that she would tell her closest three friends, the ones who ask her if I'm pregnant yet every time they see her. 

    I'm going to work on spending less time thinking about our loss every day, and increase time thinking about the future. 

    Other goals
    Continue unpacking (it didn't happen this weekend). 

    Also, I'll get promised pictures up in a separate post later today! 

    woohoo for getting a bike!  I need to get a helmet, and then start riding mine again.  Maybe I'll do that this week/weekend :)

    finally, LOVE your attitude about loss being taboo, I feel the same way.  I try not to talk about it in a way to make ppl uncomfortable or make it look like I'm fishing for pity, but in a way that it happened, it sucked, I'll keep moving forward with my life and never forget or push down those feelings that I experience(d).   I figure the more that ppl can be aware the better....   glad you and your mom had a good talk.

  • Hi Guys, Sorry I'm late here today. My job is all over the place and today has been busier then I have been in a long time!  Everyone sounds like they're in a really good place right now! I love it. And all the healthy recipes are making me hungry... Ok, let's see...

    Health goals?

    My health goals for eating are to cut back on carbs. They are my downfall!  And they're so bad for me. I feel myself packing on weight when I eat them, but they're so irresistible. So I plan on eating lots of lentils, chicken, salads, kale, greek yogurt, mangos, and bananas this week. No bagels!!!!! Surprise

     

    Fitness goals?
    Since I am back to waiting to O I am going to pick up my intensity the next week or two.  I am back on my 30 day shred DVD. My goal is to do that 4 times, 30 min on the treadmill 2 times, and 2 yoga classes.  As I type this, it sounds like a lot, but I already did shred yesterday so I think I can get there.


    Mental/Emotional goals? 

    I've been kind of bottling up my emotions lately. I hate that this whole process is so draining and I feel like if I express how sad it makes me to DH he is going to get sad too and I don't want to bring him down with me. Don't know if that makes sense? My goal would be to communicate better with DH.  I also want to focus less on the whole TTC process, I plan on doing this with upping my workout intensity- something else to focus on. It's so thought consuming! Which leads to stress and impatience. Ugh.


    Other goals

    I'm going to get caught up on my expenses for work! LOL, my manager would be happy.  I hate submitting my expense reports so I let them pile up for weeks and now I have 3 weeks worth to do at once.
