RE Recs?

Hello ladies - I was wondering if anybody had any experience with REs in Omaha/Lincoln or knew of any REs that they would recommend?

TIA!

Re: RE Recs?

  • Dr. Oakes at Reproductive Health Specialist out at Methodist Women's Hospital in Omaha was great to work with.

  • Dr. Maclin at Heartland Center for Reproductive Med was great! I'm 29 weeks pregnant with our daughter from IVF.

  • Heartland Center for Reproductive Medicine

I am going to this place Dr Dondra. From a price persective I got a lower quote from these guys. I have heard excellent things of both places though.

  • Dr. Carolyn Maud Doherty & Dr. Meghan Oakes at Methodist Reproductive Health Specialist.   They are the highest rated (RE reporting statistics) in Omaha and I highly recommend them.

  • Doherty all the way. I had less than 25% chance of conceiving by IUI.....happy to say I gave birth to my handsome son 8 weeks ago. I'm 43. Dr Oakes had just started when I was going through the process. Doherty doesn't mess around. She gets right down to business.
  • I have a question for you ladies. I also live in this area and just did IVF with Heartland.  I really liked them at 1st then it all kinda went awry. I am not sure if I am so upset with them because it did not work or because it was bad. Anyways I was never offered IUI @ heartland. Did those of you who went there feel the same. Also for those of you who have seen Maude or Oakes do you feel like IUI was more available. It just seems like most people I know there get to do some IUI 1st before giving them their money

About us. Me slightly elevated tsh 10, has been normal on all other checks

Thyroid disease (huge problem at Heartland as they let me do this cycle with tsh > 4.0 !, I am still mad but I was trying to let them do their job and now I am regretting it)

Very mild endo. Tubes clear, normal sonohystogram , etc.

DH low counts but but going up. Last count prior to IVF 6 mil but morph 0% by strict. Every other SA he has done had far higher morph. So we were told that we were not candidates. Anyone else have a simular experience?

  • So I am new to this and have never posted on a blog before.......my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 1yr and 3 months now and have had 2 miscarriages. I have been taking 10 mg progesterone for the last 3 months and nothing.  I am considering going to the Heartland Center for Reproductive Medicine and was wondering how they are? I realize all health insurance is different but are they costly? How do they approach you? What I mean is are they there for the patient and not just a paycheck? Any input would be very welcome, thanks!
  • Dr. Doherty....had to do two IVFs, but she got us pregnant. She doesn't mess around...very straight to the point. I loved her, though! Dr. Megan Oakes did a lot of our ultrasounds and stuff, too, and we really liked her, too. The nurses and secretaries are also fabulous and the facilities are amazing! Karen is the billing consultant and fabulous to work with. IVF is outpatient, and our nurses and anesthesiologists were great to work with. Good ol' Maude Doherty is known for her results! We are 16 weeks (almost 17) with our little miracle. Also, from others I talked to, IUI is usually the first step, depending our your diagnosis. We did IUI twice with Janice Lunn on the first floor and then were referred to Maude for IVF when it became apparent we had a male factor, too.
