So it turns out if you get to the hospital at 10...

you don't need much of a birth plan at all. Stick out tongue

Owen Alexander was born at 1:02 am this morning (right on his due date!), after about two hours of pushing and pretty much no other time spent at the hospital. I didn't mean to leave it that long, but it worked out great. I got the natural birth I wasn't sure I was capable of - turns out I am! We're both doing great, although I have a third-degree (just barely third) tear and will be spending much time sitting on ice for the next few days.

He's amazing, and assuming all things go well, we'll be on our way home tomorrow. My only birth plan fail: no Victorian suite available. I've got a shared room, which sucks. Especially the shared bathroom part. I'll probably write up a more detailed birth story eventually. The abbreviated version: everyone that said I wouldn't want to eat can suck it. Things I ate in labour: spring rolls from a garage sale kiosk, a pulled pork sandwich, a fruit bar, a small banana split Blizzard, and about 4 liters of water. Yum, yum.
