Trying to Get Pregnant

CM question

Hello Ladies,

So just out of being curious i am going to ask this question. I am 9 DPO and I have what seems to be CM but it is brown. Now I had my ewcm and O'd about 2 weeks ago or so, then it turned to the normal liquid and then I was dry for a bit. Now for the past day or so It has come back to looking like CM. Not necessarily ewcm, but stretchy just the same. To the point that at time I had to go check if AF was here. Has this happended to anyone before? Is it just nothing? Like I said i am just asking cause I am curious.

TIA :)

Re: CM question

  • oh yeah, not that the whole thing is brown, but (TMI) when I wipe, there is brown in it, almost looks like blood i guess? is it blood?

  • Mark it as spotting. Anything brown is most likely blood. If it's stretchy like EWCM, I would mark it both spotting and EWCM.

brown cm is blood. The reason it's brown is because it's old blood (sorry if TMI or too gross). I'd mark it as spotting.

  • If you are really 9 dpo it *could* possibly be implantation spotting. Can you link your chart so we can see? How have your temperatures been?

  • and it is normal to get ewcm late like this after O? I am sorry for all the questions, this is my first month checking CM and charting and all!
  • I have not been checking my temp, like i said above, i am brand new to the charting and checking cm, i've been doing it on paper, not even on FF yet. I gues I am just practicing for next month assuming i am not PG this go around. And when AF comes I will start with charting on FF and my temp and all that.

I'm sure you're aware, but just to remind you, checking your temp is the only way to confirm ovulation.

If it's been about 2 weeks after you O'd, I usually get EWCM right before AF is here.

Also, I personally don't consider it "charting" when you are not taking your temps.

  • Bella, Yeah, I know.  Between long weekends away from home, and stressing over the first round of clomid, i wanted to take baby steps into the entire process and be 100% prepared for this time around. I  have read enough now, and spoken to enough of you ladies, that I don't feel like this is going to be as overwhelming as I originally thought! :) I feel prepared now.. I am hoping i don't need it, but only time will tell! thanks for your help!

Juliane, that's fine. i am not looking for you to consider it "charting" I was just asking a question, gearing up to start the process with my temps this upcoming month. Thanks! :)

I didn't mean to offend you, by the way. I just wanted to clarify what *I* mean when I hear "charting".

  • No, I am sorry. I get very defensive sometimes. I have such horrid anxiety, that I wanted to take my time and learn about all of this before just jumping in and not knowing what I am doing. So I took the clomid and metformin, was checking my CM and was asking alot of questions about the opk's that I was doing as well. I just wanted to make sure that next month (well in a few days now) when i start temping, and checking, and opk's, that i know what i am looking for, and doing, and i won't drive myself crazy with anxiety over everything, as i am sure I will have plenty in itself with this whole process! sometimes when I ask questions on here some ladies get very nasty when i tell them I have not started to chart yet.. so yeah, i apologize i jumped to the defensive!!!! Thank you for your help though!
