I may need to slap my mom

She just said to me in a conversation on the phone, "Oh yeah...you're a mom.  I probably should have sent you a card for your first Mother's Day."  Huh.  Whose baby did you think that was in all the pictures I've been sending you?!  (This is kind of a touchy subject with me b/c my mom is always telling me what an awesome husband and father DH is and she has yet to say pretty much anything about me being a mom, so take that comment above for what it's worth.) /vent over

    Hang in there!  How about I slap your mother if you kick my husband?  Not a card for Mothers Day and not anything planned (yes, I asked).  My first Mothers Day with my own kids and nothing happens.  At least when I had stepkids at home, I got a card and special things were planned. 

    Hang in there and know that you are a great Mother!!

    Deal.  Any specific place you'd like the kicking to happen?  ;)  I'm so sorry that he didn't do anything for Mother's Day for you.  :(  Hopefully you can get some extra cuddles and kisses from your sweet kiddos to make up for it (as much as that helps).

    I'm so sorry.  Holidays seem to bring out issues like this even more, huh.  I hope you let it roll off your back and have had a great Mother's Day!

    Ouch!  I think that (if budget allows) you should go do a little shopping next weekend, leave the kids with him and buy yourself a little jewelry. :)  Then totally rub it in that you had to buy your own gift.
