best antihistamines while TTC?

Hi everyone --

 So, I know you're not supposed to take antihistamines while TTC because it dries up CM, but I was wondering if anyone knows what the "best" (or least bad) choice is.  I've been taking Claritin but I'm wondering if Cingulair or Zyrtec or something would be better.

I literally can't breathe if I don't take something -- it is insane allergy season here right now with all the tree and grass pollen.  Plus, if I don't take anything, I end up using my inhaler a lot, which is a steroid, which I would imagine isn't good for TTC either.

I've also tried herbs but I think the herbs that are in the allergy pills are also "drying up" type herbs.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

    either Claritin or Zyrtec are good for pregnancy. And if the inhaler that you are referring to is albuterol (Proventil, ProAir, Ventolin) that is not a steroid and is safe to use during pregnancy. Hope this helps

    Claritin is better then Zyrtec for pregnancy and nursing mothers, but they can both be used. Stick with your Claritin.
