Fire Drills....what?!?!

My company just had a random fire drill....well, the alarm was activated but we didn't have to 'exit' the building.  Still, I was in a conference room with the loudest alarm.  Man those things can cause premature labor!  With how I jumped, I'm lucky my water didn't break, and thankful I didn't pee myself! 

There are 4 prego ladies in my office....thinking we should warn the prego ladies next time, and get them outside before sounding the alarm.  Sheesh

    Haha! we had one a week ago actually.  I actually made the statement that all that was missing was us walking out in a single file line with our fingers over our mouth

    I work at a university so we inevitably have a few a year. Some planned and some because some kid pulled it. I have the opposite problem though... if i'm in my office with the door closed, I can't hear the alarm. The front desk is responsible for letting us with offices down this hallway know, but it always kind of freaks me out.

    I was just thinking about this yesterday.  We didn't have a fire drill but can at any time since we machine flammable metals (magnesium mostly) and a fire can start at any moment.  Maybe I will mention something to the facilities manager about giving me a heads up on planned fire drills if I promise I won't say anything to anyone about them.  Real fires are another story.  We've had a couple small, contained ones in the 2 years I've been here.  One was a month ago.
