Mattress Shopping

We need to get a new mattress and I am just starting to look around. We stayed at a nice hotel a while back where I loved the bed, so I'm thinking about calling and asking what kind of mattress it was, but afraid it's going to be a $5,000 mattress! Anyone have a mattress they love?

We have Costco Tempurpedic and hate it. It was good for my belly when pregnany - but both DH and I have horrible back pain from it - my because I'm a tummy sleeper so it doesn't have enough support to keep my spine inline.

We both like firm matresses - we are loking into a sleep number bed now

We have a simmons beautyrest that we bought from Costco a few years ago and really like it. But my parents just bought the beautyrest black with memory foam and I would now like to go spend the night in my parents bed!

I'm thinking next time the memory foam toppers are on sale I will have to pick one up.

We have a memory foam mattress (just like Temperpedic but cheaper!). We got the wool top layer and love it, we used www.abed.com.

We have a Beautyrest too. It's the same kind they have at the Weston, DH insisted we get one after spending the night there for work. We got it at Macy's about 5 years ago and it is still in great condition, doesn't dip anywhere, and is the most comfortable mattress I've ever owned.

we just bought a sleep number and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it....just a tip if you are interested in them, QVC has way better prices than the brick & mortar stores!!

Huge sleep number fans here. Finally solved DH's ongoing back pain and we each can customize as we couldn't agree on firmness. We keep a three inch memory foam topper on it that we had from our old mattress, and it is super comfy. [Got the foam topper from overstock.com, they had the best prices for those]

We didn't like the Temperpedic, but wanted something similar, and ended up getting a Simmons Beautyrest NXG from Macy's home store and absolutely love it. It's a memory foam mattress, too, but it doesn't bug my back (we got it when I was PG and begging for something more comfortable to sleep on). I looove it. I always tell DH that if I ever leave him, I am taking the mattress first. Wink
