Bummed....(vent ahead)

So today is my birthday and I asked dh to not make a big deal about it because I just wanted to relax and hang out with him and dd, no party this year. He had asked me if it was a trick and I assured him it wasn't.

Thankfully he listened to what I asked and we are just going to have a nice dinner together. Unfortunately, he didn't even remember it was my birthday until after my dad called the house to wish me happy birthday over an hour after both of us had gotten up and moved around the house (he had plenty of opportunity). I didn't want a big shindig but it would have been nice for him to remember. To top it off dd (who is 12) didn't bother to tell me happy birthday either. Okay...she is 12, I get it, kids forget..but it just kinda added to the lack of dh saying anything to me.

To top it off dh is in a funky mood and is altogether being rude to me. I get that people have bad days but it would be really great if he could have waited until tomorrow. Maybe I'm just being over emotional since I'm huge and preggo and and filled with all sorts of emotions but still.

btw..My parents were great, they came to my work with flowers, balloons and a happy birthday red velvet cupcake (my favorite)! Total shocker because they are both unemployed and don't really have the funds to do that kind of stuff. Anyhow, it was amazing and made me super happy that they went to such efforts.

    And hellllllooooooo lady, you're growing a human from scratch. Ask to be fussed over and pampered!! Before you're dealing with the fussing and Pampers :)

    It's one of those mars and venus things I think, if you say "don't make a big deal" he hears "don't do anything". Men need more specific instructions. Like " I don't want a party, but please bring me breakfast in bed and a card will suffice!", 

    Anyhoo, happy birthday and I hope your DH has something up his sleeve for tonight. Kudos for mom and dad going out of their way!!!

    Happy Birthday! I totally understand how you feel. SO planned baseball trips with his dad the last 2 years on my birthday. Oh yeah, last year that meant leaving me with a newborn to take care of. Birthdays are a big deal. To add all the pregnancy hormones, definitely makes things worse. Go do something to pamper yourself before the baby gets here as a present to yourself(they are always the best ) And yay for mom and dad for making a big deal. That's awesome!
