  • Can 'sucky' be an option? Because right now I'm just annoyed that I have to pick a new daycare provider.

But we use a daycare center. And we're looking into another daycare center for when his closes in July (a-holes).

  • I'm a SAHM... 3 days a week (10 hour days) I nanny for a family that happen to live right next door to my parents...

I have helped them out for 6 years, since their daughter was 3 months old. I used to watch her on my 2 days a week I "worked from home" from my full time job.. (I was a crazy workaholic!)  When I got pregnant with DS I quit my corporate job and picked up another day with them and have worked PT ever since.

It's awesome... I get to be with DS and make incredible money. And having my parents right next door helps SO much... when I was nursing DS they would entertain the kids (they are 6 and almost 3 now) and also watch DS when I wanted to take them somewhere... DS also naps at my parents. It's just the best situation...

However.... Starting June 1st I'm going down to 2 days a week and they have a back up college girl that I can use whenever I need a break. Because Em will be home from school this summer... and having the 3 yr old AND DS AND being pregnant... I just can't do the stuff with them I usually do. The pool won't work... they all need supervised so closely. UGH. Anyway, I have mixed feelings about someone coming in to watch my babies : (

I'm also conflicted what to do when baby girl gets here... During the school year it will be okay.... The 6yr old will be in 1st grade all day and the 3yr old will be in preschool a few hours... but then that summer all FOUR of them will be there and baby will be starting to walk... I will just have to play it by ear. The thought of leaving/quitting breaks my heart.. I don't need to work, so it's not a necessity (of course it's a nice chunk in our savings that wouldn't be there anymore!)

And holy GOD do I know how to ramble, lol. Sorry guess I needed to get that out : )

I work 3 days a week and my parents watch DCs.  I'm home the other 2 days.  My dad is retired, so he's home the 2 days I'm off work.  He's great about watching DS for an hour or 2 if I have an appt, and I just take DD with me.  I haven't had a backup sitter either.  If one of my parents were sick, DH or I would just take a PTO day.  But they went OOT this week and I had to find someone.  Turns out the little girl I used to babysit for is a senior XU nursing student and is the best sitter EVER!  (I guess she learned from the best....HA!)  So she's been helping us this week.  My parents are going OOT for 2 weeks in the fall and we haven't decided what to do yet.....mostly because we aren't used to having to pay for childcare.  We are very blessed!  Oh...and DS will start preschool in the fall - 3 half days.

  • I teach so ds will be home with me in the summer but during the school year he goes to in home sitter 2 miles from my school and my mom watches him on fridays on her day off. The sitter is like family and everyone there loves him! She also watches another teacher's 2 children part time. Sometimes he is by himself and other times he has friends so its the best of both worlds!

  • SAHM mostly. I work twice a week for about 5 hours a day during which time we have a nanny. She's moving to Michigan next month :'( So now we've had to find a new one.

Come January my mom will take over the two days I work.

  • DD is in 4th grade and goes to a friends house after school everyday.  The boys go to my MILs 3 days a week and to an in-home sitter 2 days a week.  Thank goodness for free MIL childcare because we wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise.  Two infants in childcare is crazy expensive!

  • DH & I work opposite schedules. He works varying hours at his Kroger store (about 50 hours a week) during the nights he has off, he has DS while I work PT. If for some reason his shifts overlap with my work schedule, my parents, his parents or my SIL watches DS for a few hours.

DS #1 born January 2010. DS #2 due June 2014.

  • DD goes to preschool 3 days a week.  DH keeps her the other two.  We use sitters and Skidaddles when we need childcare outside of the usual 3 days.  Skidaddles rocks, BTW.  Try them out.  Easy, and DD just LOVES them.

  • Mon, Wed, Thurs - The kids go to an in-home childcare.  We love this setting b/c right now there are only a max of 2 others there with my 2.  THis will change during the summer and next school year there will be 1 more :)

Tues, Fri - I am off so I get to spend time with my little ones :)

Our kids are 19mths apart and we LOVE it!!

Married to my BFF on 8.13.05 (after dating 5 years)!

DS born 2.14.08. DD born 9.30.09.

  • Sun, Wed & Thu - DH is home and with him.

Mon & Tues - I try to use these as my off days from work

Fri - I have a friend who watches him on a regular basis

Sat - a variety of people such as grandparents, friends, and a friend's daughter

We also have a variety of friends/family who currently watch him.  I have a hired sitter who I use on an as needed basis.  She got a job a Children's shortly after I hired her to watch Carter so we're just hoping that our schedules work out well together.

  • C is in a full-time center. He'll be starting in their pre-school in August. They have a state-certified Kindergarten, so he'll probably end up there at least until he can go to an all-day public school.
