The SS office has updated their baby name list for 2010. sadly for my DS in 2009 Quinn was more of a boys name, now in 2010 it is a girls name

    I'm betting that Katherine/Catherine/Kate will be on the rise again this year after the Royal wedding.  It's been dropping steadily since 2000ish.

    I checked it out earlier today too, Wesley jumped up quite a bit but is still not in the top 100, which I am very happy about. I know there are a couple Wesleys on this board alone, so I was curious just how popular it had gotten.

    The sad truth about this is it's because of Glee.

    I picked Quinn because it is an Irish name and I wanted our Irish heritage in her name. And now it's becoming really popular. Sad...

    I never knew where Quinn took the turn to a boys name though. It started in Ireland as a girls name.

    I like it as a girls name too, hope it stays unisex like the name Taylor which I think still goes both ways.

    LOL Heaven & Nevaeh are #18 for twin girls names.

    OMFG. There should be a rule against that. That really makes me want to move to a different country.

    LO bumped back to #6 but our girl name is up to #2.... Sophia was #42 in 2000 when I liked it back then.

    Why are all the classic names popular now? :p

    Amelie is at 681, it dropped 13 places last year. DS's name (Theo) just made it to the top 1000 last year at 915, but I'm pretty sure it was semi popular about a century ago if I remember right.

    Laine is not even on there. Lainey is, which is what we call her from time to time, but Laine isn't. I didn't think we were that original, but I guess we are!

    Ethan is #2. We knew that when we picked it, but I'm totally fine with it. My name is totally unpopular. The last time Nila was in the top 1000 was 1954. And it was 999. The lowest it was 608 in 1934. I'm named after my grandmother who was born in the 30's. Kinda cool!

    I guess you can easily identify the good twin and the evil twin.

    Alexander is up there, just as it was before. That's part of why I call him "Mac."

    ITA!  My DD is Abigail also except I had to be yooneek and spell it Abbigail.  I'm surprised that Evelyn is #39, much higher than I thought it would be.  I think it's going to be climbing the charts in the next few years.

    TOR-in.

    I call him Thor sometimes, though, because "Torin" is a derivative of "Thor."

    Don't worry. Quinn is a great name and I think it goes well for a boy or a girl.

    I am just so happy that our DS isn't in the top 50! I really wanted to avoid that.

    Grayson is #122 and Cristian is #182.  I'm pretty sure Grayson will break the top 100 this year.  It seems everyone I meet now has or knows of a Grayson.
