Trying to Get Pregnant

Wondfo Evap lines

So long story short, I POAS at 5 AM this morning at 8 DPO. For the record, I never POAS that early. However, I have a dr appt for a kidney infection today and nurse told me to since I am "late". So I did and it appeared negative in the nighlight ambience :) When I got up at 6:45, I saw a very faint line. I assume this was an evap line. Since it was a pink dye  test, this should not surprise me. My hopes were up for like 10 seconds before I realized it. Anyone else had this happen? The practical side of my is saying, it was negative you early pee-er and the hopeful side of me said " Buy a digita! " I am sure they will do a UA today at the dr but it would still be too early. I guess I will just have to patiently wait and test again in 10 days. Anyone have any idea of how long it takes for an evap line to appear?

It might be the real thing. i poas at 10dpo and it was negative. i went and looked at the stick after like 30min and there was a faint line. that scared the crap out of me. thenext day i tested same thing. the next day and today it was real clear positive. so it might be the real deal. wait one more day or try it in the evening. some ppl say they pick up more in the evening thatn in the morning good luck.

  • I think its anything after 5 MIn...you can always ask the Doc to draw blood if you are unsure, just to make sure in case anything they want to do with your kidneys may affect anything if your KU.

     Good Luck

  • The general rule of thumb is to not trust anything that's outside the time frame that the directions give, whether you see a positive or negative. I hope it's not an evap line, but it's a possibility. If I were you I wouldn't wait 10 whole days to test again though! Good luck!

  • I would retest tomorrow and be sure to look at it within the stated time frame just to be sure

  • I'm super leery of the Wondfo HPTs now. A few months ago I got an evap line within the time frame. Subsequent tests proved to be BFN.

Last month I got the same thing on a couple of Wondfo's with subsequent BFNs.

I'm 99.9% positive they were evap lines b/c they didn't quite look right, even though they showed up in the test time. They looked like super thin, very light lines. I think I just got a bad batch of tests :(

Hopefully yours turns into a BFP -- it's still very early to be testing if you're only 8 DPO. Good luck to you!

  • Yeah, I just realized it is 9 DPO. I hate BFNs since I have seen so many over the past year so I was thinking I would wait until 18 dpo before testing again. That way, if af comes, I know that I am not ku. And if I reach 18 dpo, then I will know that I probably am. But let's be honest, I probably won't last that long :) we will see what the dr says. Thanks for the advice ladies!

  • You really can't know if you are 9DPO if you don't temp.  Having a + OPK doesn't mean that you O'ed.  The only way to confirm O is by temping.

  • The nurse sounds like she doesn't know what she's talking about: if you only O'd 8 days ago, then you're not late. KWIM? Your cycle is longer than normal, but your AF isn't expected yet cause you only just O'd.

  • Juliane - Yes, that's what I thought but I have tried to explain charting and delayed O in the past, to no avail. So I just did it.

chloebeth- I temped the first several months of TTC. We took a break for a little while. I have PCOS so my temps are all over the place at times. Then i lost my thermometer and just got a new one in the mail this week. Didn't want to start temping in the middle of a cycle. That is why I am a little worried because I honestly don't know what my body is doing as I have never had a positive OPK in the past and not temping didn't help this cycle. Add the metformin side effects, and I have had a rough, confusing cycle, thus the dumb question :)
