August 2011 Baby Shower Swap.. anyone interested?

So I had a thought.. would anyone be interested in doing a baby shower swap?? Meaning that we would pair up with another Aug 11 mom and send her something inexpensive off of her registry or a general baby gift. Maybe we could do this in conjunction with choosing birth buddies?
What are your thoughts?

That is weird.. I guess since you can view everyones full name, you can put in their name into the website. Once we draw names, we can communicate with our recipients for more information as well.
Yes, once we have drawn names we can exchange personal information privately, rather than having it public.
Okay sounds good. Brooklyn is by far my favorite name for a girl. It actually made our top 10 list but my DH said no because it will remind him of the supermodel Brooklyn Decker. Men!
I thought the whole point of using elfster was to keep it fairly anonymous so you didn't have to provide addresses but I don't know how the site works. (Like maybe you send the gift somewhere and a 3rd party sent it out or something?) I see people's first and last names are listed on there already.

But when I did it before on another board, once we figured out who was partnered up with who, it then showed the address to only you. If that makes any sense. I put my address on elfster and then the bumpie that got me automatically saw my address, but no other person could see it. Sorry if confusing.
I am using it for more organizing purposes. I figured it would be nice to get to know the mom we are exchanging gifts with, thus giving a more applicable gift. If anyone is uncomfortable with giving out their physical address we can figure something out for that.

No with elfster it just does the name exchange for you and keeps things organized. We do this with our friends every year for secret Santa gifts. It also allows you to wish for items so people know what to get for you. A third party would not send it out which is why you would either need to see the other person to hand deliver or mail it out in which case you would need the address.
well, if we are linking our registries and things are being bought off there then it will just ship directly to us.
I think with some registries (BRU), if you buy the item off the website, there is the option at checkout to ship it directly to the recepient.
