We got DS 1's crib at walmart 4 years ago and it is still standing and in great condition!! My sister just bought a newer one from Walmart for her 3rd that is due in September and she loves it and says the quality is just as good as the one I got a while ago. We've never had problems with it! *it is now at grandmas house in the toddler bed position for when he has over nights*

We plan to order our crib from Walmart, the Baby Mod Modena is Cool Grey. While we don't have any experience with the Baby Mod brand yet, I've read hundreds of reviews of their products and am confident that the crib will last as long as we need it.

We also got our crib, changing table, and mattress combo at Wal-Mart. It was easy to put together. and looks great. I put the crib together myself. It took about an hour when I was 4 months pregnant. Glad I didn't wait until now!!
We bought a Baby Mod crib and so far we're really happy with it. It's very sturdy and matches the wood color in our house perfectly. I obviously haven't used it yet, but so far we're happy with it. It also was delivered in perfect condition and delivery was like $10. We could have done site to store, but it was just easier to have it delivered.
We bought the Graco Lauren crib and changing table from walmart.com. Haven't got to test it out yet but both are very sturdy and nice! They also sell that brand at Target and BRU - Walmart was the cheapest. I will say however, that when it arrived, I didn't know about off-gassing. So I set it up in winter and the nursery smelled sooo bad until I could air it out when it got warmer.

Walmart sells many different crib brands (same as the other stores), so you should research and/or post about the specific crib you're looking at.
We got the Baby Mod Parklane crib and I'm happy with the look and quality of it so far (obviously no baby yet). Baby Mod is made for Walmart only (unlike many of the other cribs they carry), but it's made by the Million Dollar Baby company.
I read the reviews at Walmart for the Baby Mod cribs and also researched the MDB brand in Baby Bargains, etc.

Wal Mart sells lots of crib brands, so I'd check out the brand, not necessarily whether "walmart" cribs are safe.
We bought a Graco Sarah on Amazon, but I know they sell it at walmart too. We love it!
