Need appetizer suggestions for bday party

We are having Leah's birthday party at 3pm on a Saturday in a couple of weeks. It's a weird time since it's not lunch, but not yet dinner. We'll have drinks and cake, obviously, but I am struggling with what else to serve as snack-type food. I am thinking of some obvious choices, like chips and salsa, chex mix, and fruit skewers, but what else can I serve? I don't want anything too heavy and I feel like anything with a lot of meat, like deli spirals, will be more appropriate for a meal. 

Any suggestions?

    Chicken lettuce wraps, that's what I did for Henry's Birthday in March.  You can make the chicken and vegetables ahead of time and keep it in a crock, wash a couple of heads of iceberg lettuce (there's a trick to separating the leaves with water so they don't tear) and you can let them crisp up in the fridge.  I skipped the rice noodles because I was lazy and just added crunchy cashews as a topping.  Serve with Hoisin and Sriracha sauce!

    Oh and as for the chicken and vegetables, very easy garlic whatever veggies you want chopped up and chicken with soy. (I used the LKK GF Oyster Sauce)

    How about a cheese tray?  Or veggie pizza?  Oh now I really want some veggie pizza... the crescent roll kind.  Yum.

    And you should also have cookies.  Cake is important, but I always feel cake needs a cookie appetizer too.  :)

    Excellent ideas, ladies. And I was reminded of one of my great spinach dips, and I could use the pita chips that go with that to go with some of this. Thanks!
