Recs/Cost for 1st bday invites?

Anyone use a particular place that they liked?

What's a normal price to expect for these?  I'd like to do something personalized but have always made things in the past.  I just don't anticipate having any time within the next few weeks to make something so I'd prefer an online source :)
Thanks!

  • I'm using DimplePrints on Etsy. They are GREAT! They make the invitation and send it to you and you print it out at Staples, Kinkos, etc. For invitation only I think it's $10 for the digital file. They have tons of themes to choose from.

They also have party packages, which is what I ended up buying. For $30 they sent me a file of the invitation, and many other personalized party supplies (the file was 120 pages long). I have to print everything and create it all (banner, cupcake toppers, water bottle tags, party hats, etc) but I'm crafty and LOVE to do that kind of stuff.

What a COOL idea..thanks!  So, when you say you have to print it at Staples, do you get it printed on cardstock or a photo?  I'm excited to check this out!

  • I think they suggest getting it printed on cardstock.

DD is only 9 months old and I'm already planning this--crazy I know! But I searched high and low and really didn't love any invitations and then I found these people on Etsy and I couldn't be happier! I emailed them bc I was looking for a cupcake theme with a few more colors and they sent me 3 files to choose from that were not yet on their Etsy shop. They were extremely kind, and the file comes with all the instructions too.

I'm sure it won't easy-peasy to make the banner and stuff, but I know the invitation will be easy to get printed  :)

  • I just ordered mine about 5 min ago from Etsy too.  They were way cheaper than Tiny Prints, which is where we did our Birth Announcement, Christmas Card, and super easy to work with!  Her shop is Four Harp Designs.

I did DimplePrints too.  They were great!  I printed everything at home with my color printer because it was so much cheaper.  I printed it on cardstock and think it came out really nice.  I paid $20 for a 156 page pdf file and am very happy with it!

  • I used Vistaprint. You can search for coupon codes online so I got them pretty cheaply! I customized them, and they turned out great!

That's what invite we got. We also got cupcake toppers and favor tags for free that matches these. I got them within 48 hours and were able to print them at walmart for 20 dollars! I loved how they turned out and match his theme perfectly! I've gotten tons of compliments on them as well!

  • I printed them on photo paper, but you could do either. I did print it on cardstock as well, but the colors weren't as vivid as they were on the photo paper.

  • I did a non-photo postcard invite from zazzle.com; we are doing a robot theme so I customized a robot motif. They were only 80 cents a piece too!

  • I bought them from Tinyprints and I love them!. They normally cost over $2 an invite, but I had a groupon-type deal so they cost me, (including the cost of the groupon), $35 for 25 cards and 30 envelopes. Without the groupon they would have been about $55.
