I can't see anything yet (and I am not sticking my finger in her mouth to find out the hard way) but judging by the drool and number of frozen teethers we went through this weekend, something is coming in. I use Motrin and teething tablets, and teething gel has never been effective for us...
My problem though is that LO is going after my furniture like a teething puppy! My poor leather couch is traumatized (and there is a small area threatening to actually rip open) and the TV stand lip is covered by bite marks. I can usually distract her back to a freshly frozen teether but that only last about 10-15 minutes before she is back to gnawing on furniture.
Does anyone have advice for this? I have been very careful not to pay fussy attention to the furniture chewing and when it happens I just go to her, catch her attention with a fresh teether and then get her playing with some toys that haven't yet been pulled out for the day (she bites on the teether to hold it so both hands are free to play). I've also kept a close enough eye on her to switch the teethers out once the inner ice has almost melted and this has helped a little bit but not a whole lot. I've also figured out that some teethers just don't get the job done for LO and have removed those from her freezer stash which also helped a little bit but I am still desperate for some advice please.
Re: Need some teething help...
I'll give the frozen wash cloth a try tomorrow night...
We have tried Hylands, Little Teethers brand and all the different Orajels. It's as if those active ingredients just don't work on LO...The teething tablets however are a life saver...
As for that particular teether, LO only gave it a 10 second try at each temperature (room temp, fridge and freezer) then tossed it completely. Maybe because it's like a pacifier? She never kept up with those when she was younger but it was a great idea though...I've mostly stuck with water filled teethers just incase they start to leak from the freezing process, but maybe I should invest in a gel one for the fridge...
