Babysitting rates--high schoolers

How much do you pay in your area? We have a really good sitter we pay $10/hour who used to work in a daycare. For a high school kid, we were thinking $7 or $8?? Is that accurate where you are? I'd say we're in a  medium cost of living area, in a suburb.

    I do $7-8 for a 16 year old that lives down the street.  Also in medium cost of living area.

    We pay $10/hr. for a high schooler even though some get $12.  On care.com you can plug in your zip and their experience for average rates by you.  I know Germantown (I'm originally from New Berlin) and I would say $7-$9 would be fine.

    ETA: Is this for the baby too?  We'd be paying $12-$15/hr. for that.

    I pay $10/hr for both kids with the 17y/o across the street. We live 30 min from NYC.

    I live in a MCOL area and when we use our high school girl neighbor we pay her $10.  And the only time we have ever used her is when DD was already sleeping so she just had to keep an eye on the baby monitor.

    One of my high schoolers charges $8/hr and the other one charges $6/hr.

    I live in a really inexpensive area and pay $10 an hr. I usually only use a sitter on Fri or Sat evenings for a few hrs when DH and I go on dates and I feel like I have to make it worth their while so they will do it again hehe. I had her babysit once for a day and paid closer to 8 and rounded up.
