Diaper parties?

My DH's brother had one when his wife was pregnant with their last one. Is basically a get together of all the guys and they just bring diapers and visit, drink, whatever. We're considering this although I know is not very common. His brother said he loved it bc he got hang out with friends and that his daughter ended up having diapers for almost a year and saved them money. What do you all think of this concept? would you do one?

Diaper showers are very common at work places here. Diapers, Wipes, Bath Stuff, etc. People are usually asked to bring diapers in a variety of sizes and brands.

We were going to have a diaper party for our 2nd, didn't with our first since we had a baby shower, but then I bought a ton of diapers from Amazon with all of the coupons that were out there. We have now decided that we are having a get together once the baby comes since the weather will be so nice. Diaper parties can also be co-ed, not just for men.

I've heard of it before. As long as your DH doesn't throw the party himself, I think it's fine. His buddies would have to "host" it for not to be completely tacky. That's probably why it never took off with our circle of friends- guys can be terrible at planning things...LOL.

DH had one with our first, it was so nice bc I didn't buy diapers for the first 8 months!!! He had such a good time at it, since he doesn't really get to see everyone a lot. A lot of my friend's husbands had them too, and they all enjoyed the party....could care less about the diapers lol.

MH is having one. They are playing golf then bbqing at our house. Just an excuse to get the guys together to have some fun.

The party concept is fine, but I think it's in poor taste to throw your own party. If a friend suggests it and wants to host, that's great.

Yeah, i know he wouldn't be throwing his own party. My dad wanted to do it for my husband but I didn't know how common it was. It appears to be pretty common. The playing golf idea sounds good.

I had actually never even heard of them until someone recently posted about them here. I think they are great and such a good opportunity to not only include dad in the pregnancy but allow him some time with his friends before the baby comes since he wont get as much of that once the baby comes.

My husband's not technically getting one because we are CDing. But he is having a "guy's night/baby shower" at his best friend's place at the end of May. No one is expected to bring gifts - they are just getting together to drink and bbq and stuff.

I would love a diaper party, of course! for our second one. We are having a boy and have everything in pink! But you are right, guys are terrible at planning things, I wonder if I could put a bug in one of his friends' ears so that he gets a night out or a bbq. I missed out on the Amazon coupons and some diapers would surely help.

It has been kicked around about having a poker tournement and the buy in for the first game is a case of diapers:) Then the second one, the guys can play for $$..
