I agree about the wedding.

My FFFC is that I think it is immature of people when they name call/put down others here (and IRL) just because parenting opinions/politics etc are not the same as their own.

It shows that they are probably not so confident in their own choices if they need to attack others who have differing opinions than their own.

Oh and on a lighter note, I rarely brush my hair. I have short, straight hair and after I had DS I just resorted to pulling it back with a few bobby pins ( I do wash it every night) Embarrassed

I confess I might just have a handful of Rolo's for lunch. I feel like I'm failing in feeding this kid well right now but I just can't get my normal appetite back...and also I irrationally fear that my terrible picky eating this week is going to cause me to fail my glucose test on Monday.

I feel the same way most of the time. The sooner my 39 weeks are up (RCS) the sooner I can start to get things back to normal but with my precious little girl this time. I'm really excited to see if she looks like DH or me more!

I'm so sick of the royal wedding stuff and I hope the board talk about something else today. On that note, I really loved Kate's dress.

I'm hoping that people start naming their daughters Katherine/Kate so that our LO's name doesn't get any more popular than it is now.

I want to take a month off of work just to set up our new home and work on Baby's nursery.

There were 23 Katie/Katherine's in my freshman 300 person biology class. I completely stopped responding to my name and waited for people to say my last name. It was crazy.

I completely 100% disagree with you. Perhaps if you live in a major city, you could take a bus or walk to work. I live in a rural area... there are no buses, trains, or cabs. Most people commute an hour (on the expressway) to get to work because there are NO jobs locally. The nearest grocery store is 20 minutes away.

Maybe you are financially well off but for a lot of people, the rising cost of gas prices means they may not be able to afford food, diapers, or their utility bills.

I know this is supposedly FF, but I think you need a serious reality check.

I totally see both sides of it. There are so many people who burn gas because it is relatively cheap and they don't have to think about it. I know that even as conscience as I generally am, I've gotten more aware of my driving since the price has spiked. I appreciate that it makes everyone more seriously consider everything from more their lifestyle to their choice of vehicle to how much we should invest in developing alternatives.

But yeah, I also know people who drive a hundred miles (seriously!!) round trip from an economically barren area to work $9/hour factory jobs in whatever hand me down old Buick they have and can't afford to move because they live in a cheap trailer on family land and even a tiny apartment would be a huge jump for them. I know that seems like a totally extreme case but every bit of it is true of many people in my area.When gas goes up, they don't cut down on trips to Wal-mart, they cut out their own lunch so they can keep feeding their kids.

And yes, I know, FFFC but I'm not really flaming. More lamenting.

I do. I have many curling irons (still haven't found "the" curling iron, I am afraid). I have extremely straight hair, and I use it to curl my hair under on the bottom.

I deliberately guilted my husband into working on the nursery decor, by telling him I felt like I disappointed him in having a girl and he would be more involved if it were a boy.
He felt like pure sh!t when I said that. I know it.
BTW: the nursery has already been painted and the furniture is put together, it's just the finishing touches. He's done everything so far. I don't know what got into me.
In the past 24 hours he's looked at over 4000 wall decals and is moving on to accessories to coordinate.
I actually feel pretty sh!tty about this.

H wanted a FIFA Soccer Game for his x-box and I told him he couldn't buy it until the nursery was done. You know what, the nursery is done and he has is game.

I've never never never done anything like that before. I swear it brought out my inner beast. H didn't bat an eye though, he agreed that his game would distract him. Now that he has the game, he plays it about 3 times a week for about 20-30 mins at a time. He's no gamer, and really, it would have been fine for him to have it before.

I personally know a LOT of people who had 3,000 sq ft homes, good jobs, new cars, etc and then they were laid off due to the recession (directly linked IMO to gas prices) and lost everything. People who typically DONATE to food banks were forced to ask for help. Parents moved in with their children because they had nowhere to go. People with Master's degrees started working at minimum wage jobs for $7 an hour.

And for the people who were making it prior to the recession but didn't have a lot of savings, the difference between $2 and $4.25 per gallon is enough that they could no longer afford diapers. I don't think that means they were irresponsible in having children.

I really want to feel sorry for those people that had 3,000 sq. foot homes, new cars, etc. But how far above their means were they living to have those things? Did they pay cash for their cars and keep a year's salary in the bank? No? Well then they were like so many other Americans, who were just setting themselves up for total loss during the recession. The typical mindset of Americans needed to be reset. Not wishing those problems on anyone, but people in this country are ridiculous about their possessions, most of which they don't actually own.

No board on the bump/knot/nest is flame free (::pats the heads of all those who think otherwise::).

The closest board to flame free is the miscarriage/loss board, but even then, there were/are some good flamings.

Word. New cars and expensive homes does not make one financially healthy.

Actually the opposite tends to be true in soooo many cases....see my IL post on the previous page. They lived above their means, didn't save, and now DH and I are going to have to support them.

I think complaining about gas prices is stupid. It's a big big world out there and gas is way more expensive in other places. People cope with it by voting for good public transportation and using smaller cars. American's love sprawl. I live in a suburb, but that is a choice. People don't like to admit that where they live is a choice.

Also, if you drive a giant car (anything above a sedan), I have NO sympathy for you.

Actually, it was never Flame Free. The first week, the one girl mentioned allowing her dog to pee in the house because she was too tired to let him out.....and we all pounced.

FYI I am going to be induced early due to a chronic medical condition, so yes, to answer your questionI will be giving birth at the end of July. Maybe I should have joined the AUG board after all Indifferent

I think my days here on the bump are done.... I am sure you will not miss me.

I am going to choose to spend my time with adults IRL and on different forums I am on that are kinder to another and do not make fun of each other on the internet to get out their daily frustrations with their own lives.

Oh and I think you may need to look up the definition of FFFC.

One would think you would know that nothing is ever flame free on the Bump, considering your history on TTGP.

What history would that be?

And I was under the impression that FFFC was a thread that was flame free? Am I wrong?

And, you've been here a month. July's FFFC was Flame Free maybe the first week, since then nothing on this board is flame free.

Actually, it was never Flame Free. The first week, the one girl mentioned allowing her dog to pee in the house because she was too tired to let him out.....and we all pounced.

FYI I am going to be induced early due to a chronic medical condition, so yes, to answer your questionI will be giving birth at the end of July. Maybe I should have joined the AUG board after all

I think my days here on the bump are done.... I am sure you will not miss me.

I am going to choose to spend my time with adults IRL and on different forums I am on that are kinder to another and do not make fun of each other on the internet to get out their daily frustrations with their own lives.

I wish you ladies ALL a happy and healthy pregnancy, quick labor and peaceful parenthood.

I'm sure most of you are wondering who the heck still uses a curling iron over a flat iron . . .

I DO!!! My hair is naturally straight so I curl it for most "special occasions"

holy drama! i always miss the fun stuff, for once i got to read it back on confessions...

if DH does not get off the stupid computer, my confession is about to be a ridiculous trip to the pizza buffet bc this child is eating it's way out of me. i'm STARVING.
