What day of the week? Mondays are kind of crazy at abia security-wise, I don't recommend that day if you can help it. But a 630am flt blows in general. Another PSA - terminal 3 is the busiest (southwest, delta, I can't remember who else is in 3) so go thru checkpoints 1 or 2 if you can.

What time does she wake up, usually? We're usually on the early flight out of here (6:45am) and it's not so bad. Yeah, the kids are up way earlier than usual, but with a 6-7 month old that probably means a nap on the flight. (As opposed to a 2 1/2 year old, where it means HYPER.) Ditto the pp about going really early if you're going on a weekday. The last time we flew out of Austin on a weekday at 6:30am, we would have missed our flight if I hadn't started sobbing in the security line until someone let us cut to the front of the line. It was insanity.
Where are you going now that's not Wisconsin? HUH?

It would be on a Sunday morning coming back from BFE Wisconsin, AKA where mlf lives. The airport isn't going to be busy, I don't think. I am just wondering about the logistics and my mental state of flying with an infant that young that early in the day.

Weekends are usually dead so you should be ok there. Waking up at the ungodly hour of 430 or whatever would not be fun even w/o child, but I've seen plenty of people do it.:)

BWAHAHA! Dude, it will be okay. Leaving from here is easy-peasy. We show up 45 minutes before your flight, park right outside the front door and walk you in. The only people in the security line with you are the other 20 people on your flight, so it's a pretty low-stress environment. Some of the planes we get are the smaller prop planes and they're SO loud that they'll knock her right out to sleep. For real - they make Anderson go to sleep, and he's a champion at fighting plane sleep.

Ugh. Fine. Check your email. Or your phone. You might have 401 texts from me.
We flew with V when she was 6 months. It was actually not even close to as bad as I thought it would be. Yeah, she was a little squirmy but she was distracted by the flight attendants and the people around us making funny faces at her (they were all really nice, btw). And if she cries, the plane is loud enough that it will drown out the noise so no one except your seatmates will hear her. Even V, who is a non-sleeper, slept on the flight out and the flight back so my guess is your DD will probably fall asleep. You can do it!
No siggy pic until TB gets rid of Twitter and FB links
Very doable. Biggest hassle is carseat and bags but if mlf is dropping you off, that shouldn't be bad. She'll be tired and fall asleep. I'd do a 6:30 am flight before I'd do a flight that gets us home after bedtime.

Agreed, we had a 6 am flight when DD was 6 months old and it worked great, she totally zonked on the flight
